"Went to The Jolly Fisherman on Saturday evening. To be honest, I 'm absolutely not a fan of pretentious restaurants but I think there is a problem when places over sell themselves. We had booked ahead obviously and following the reviews, we were really looking forward to it. We ordered a crab salad (included a side dish of fries) and a seafood platter from the 'specials ' board. This included a couple of oysters. Neither dishes were bad, they were just extremely ordinary, taking into account the cost both were about £30 a pop. There was plenty of crab, but the salad was something you 'd get in a very ordinary tearoom. The chips were dried out probably hanging around, being kept warm for a while. The special seafood platter was similar ok, but not exceptional. We ordered a trio of small puddings, which included a chocolate mousse that was absolutely solid, you could barely penetrate it with a teaspoon. The concept of a mousse, 'a dish made as a smooth, light mass ', having been missed. The bill for the 2 main courses, the shared pudding, one bottle of wine (in the lower price range) came to £110. Really don 't feel that price ticket was justified. Ordinary pub meals with extraordinary prices."

"We arrived at the restaurant for our booked special occasion, only to find out that they had no record of our reservation. This resulted in a disappointing experience as we had to wait while they tried to find a suitable table for us. When we were finally seated, we found ourselves at very low seats that were not ideal for enjoying our afternoon tea. Overall, it was a spoiled experience for us."

"This place was absolutely amazing. We came for dinner since it looked very inviting from the outside. The staff was very friendly and sat us immediately. Our server asked if we had been there before and when we said no he guided us through the menu and gave us a lot of recommendations. The food was gorgeously plated and had great flavor. My fiancee has a gluten allergy and they went out of their way to show us all the options that would be good for her. After dinner they invited us to come the next day for afternoon tea and said if we made a reservation they would make all gluten free items for my fiancee. We made the reservation and came back for tea the next day. The sandwiches and scones were extremely fresh and the gluten free items they made my fiancee were amazing! Well done and we will be back next time we come to Windsor!"

"Absolutely brilliant! They matched us with a little waiting that we expected as a party of 10, easily ordered our food, which was all well cooked and not wait long at all, I myself had the butterfly with hot sauce, creamy mash and long trunk broccoli, which was so beautiful and definitely not left of the children and that says something!! the staff made our visit all the more beautiful by making all the stupid questions from 7 over old helpful 12-13"

"Went to Mestizo for a birthday party on the Saturday, returned on the Wednesday for more. Great to see a separate vegan menu and the staff were willing to remove cheese or other non-vegan ingredients from other dishes on the normal menu. Very helpful staff and very attentive. First time around I had the enchiladas de papa with rojas sauce. Delicious! A little spicy for me but the black beans and the rice really helped me with that! Second time around I had the guacamole then the vegetables slow cooked in a banana leaf. DELICIOUS. We also had a cactus ! salad on the side which they made vegan for me. Cactus is amazing tasting! Very happy to be able to get hibiscus tea in London as well. All round a great experience and delicious food."

"we have booked a table for 12 that was pretty cramped. staff efficient and friendly, only missing fine details e.g.: eating came out, but no cutlery or serviettes, so wait wait wait wait until this was cold during eating. asked for sauces that old people accepted to come. Meals were ok, I feel that the burgers are not as tasty as they were before. I had heard that they bought them from 'burger plus' instead of making their own. burger didn't taste fresh, more like a processed burger, I wonder if they came in frozen. it is so easy to make homemade burgers, so not sure why this cant be made especially if £13! overall we enjoyed the evening, but more attention to the bases would be appreciated."

"Arrived here at approx 10pm and was turned away because “they are closing and can only do takeaway”. On here it clearly states that this branch closes at 11pm. I would understand if it was 10.30 and the staff need time to close down the restaurant, but turning customers away a whole hour before closing time (with no other customers in there) isn’t good customer service. Just seemed like the staff was more concerned about going home early. Looking at previous google reviews this seems to be a recurring issue that clearly hasn’t been resolved."

"The surroundings are very pleasant but unfortunately the gentleman that was providing the live entertainment was really pretty bad,however,the staff realising this did not let him play for very long they did go round asking the diners for their feedback. I had ordered meatballs which were cold when they brought them to the table but quickly changed them for me couldn't apologise enough. I found the staff very friendly they really made us smile making our evening very pleasant which I was delighted with as my husband I were treating our friends to dinner to celebrate their anniversary as we do every year.
