"The Fox Hounds was recommended to us as a place to have a decent roast. Not sure if it was an off day for The Fox, but unfortunately we didn’t receive the tasty, good quality roast we were hoping for. We received our meat...and Yorkshire pudding etc a while before the veg, so had to remind the waiter to bring them out after about 5 minutes. The meat was overdone to the point it was grey in colour and tough like leather. The yorkshire was over cooked and dry, and the roast potatoes were both burnt and under cooked at the same time quite an achievement we thought. No seasoning on anything really. The gravy wasn’t bad and the soup for a starter was rather good! The table next to us had a similar experience and didn’t finish their meals either and still no offer from staff to rectify an obvious and apparent dissatisfaction with the meals. All things considered a crappy roast, with the potatoes being amongst the worst we’ve ever had. We like to compare a roast to a Toby carvery as a bench mark and the Fox fell well short.
