"We are regulars at Bocca di Lupo, visiting this restaurant perhaps four times a year, constrained only by the fact that it 's increasingly difficult to get a table at this extremely busy and popular restaurant. And let 's not forget that it 's not cheap by any means although every time we visit the menu is entirely different so it 's really like going to a new restaurant every time except that the quality and experience is always fantastic. This time we went as a party of five, just before Christmas. So it was appropriate, perhaps, that some of the items had a Christmas feel to them Italian Christmas fare of course. Some of these menu items were more at the 'luxury ' end of the scale, reflecting the season and so far more expensive than you tend to see on the Bocca di Lupo menu most of the time. Having said all that, this ended up being a sensational experience and one of the best meals we 'd ever had. Importantly, we left with a sense that we had experienced Italian Christmas fare. The roast suckling pig and the ox cheek in chocolate sauce were standouts but the pastas, which were served to us first, were no less scrumptious. The service, from Roberto, was excellent. When I asked him to recommend a wine, he did not recommend an expensive one instead saying that the house wine, the cheapest on the menu, was excellent. I really appreciated that."
