"write this review in the name of the personal in maki and ramen to guide it to our favee vegan options. the vegan tantan and hell wheels are our favorite volcanic wheels. if they love sesame, they will certainly try the tantan. Do not forget to ask for tofu when they love tofu, as the vegan rarmen on the menu is only with sweet. on our special board we have at the moment vegan pumpkin avocado rolls. that is for the. have this for my dinner almost every day, love. also our vegetarian sushi roll is vegan! if you want to try the vegetarian set, we can replace the tamago for inari also we make our tamago before place for our covegias."

"I have visited Beni Shoga twice now and had a great experience both times. The tasting menu, priced at £35 per person for 9 courses, is a wonderful option for those who are unsure of what to order. The second time I went, I tried the a la carte menu and was once again impressed by the quantity and quality of the food. The kimchi and pork gyoza were standout dishes, and the coconut ice cream mochi for dessert was delicious. Although I did not try the sushi menu, I would recommend their affordable sakes for those new to sake. The cocktail menu was tasty but expensive, while the beer selection was standard for an Asian fusion restaurant. The service was excellent on both visits, though a bit slow the second time as we were seated far from the bar and kitchen. However, the complimentary lychee sake with dessert more than made up for it. It is worth mentioning that the bill came to around £35 per person for three courses and drinks, which I found to be good value, especially when skipping the cocktails. Overall, I highly recommend Beni Shoga for a delicious and enjoyable dining experience."

"I’ve been to Nippon Kitchen many times. I find service is either amazing or poor never in between. The vegan bento box is great value for money and tastes great. Included in the bento box for about £11 miso soup, 3 sushi rolls, veg tempura, 2 dumplings, soy beans, curry and rice. Ordering meals separately, I find is expensive and not worth it. Overall love the restaurant and definitely would go back. Clear, separate vegan menus."

"I visited twice this year to close it, which was very sad, as the guy there is great and the food he prepares is highest quality. a couple of counters and a small table explains why he is so busy with take-away food. try the spicy thun-fish dragon of only the freshly made sushimi (spelling, which is rugged in the ground, from raw fresh thun-fish so many places have only salmon or garnel. if they like me, they will travel miles to go there and it is a few hundred meters away, the good but pricier tomoe Japanese restaurant"

"Overall a bit strange. We were early before they opened so to kill some time my friends got a coffee next door. But then weren’t allowed to have the coffee at the table outside…? Just seems a bit picky for a restaurant that was not very busy. Since we were outside we had to pay for the meal before it arrived. Not a big deal just felt all a bit weird and sterile. Ambience feels commercial and the food was a bit bland—ramen was lukewarm. Wouldn’t return…"

"really delicious, healthy Japanese cuisine. the miso suppe is like a hug in a cup. great service and great variety on menu. with one of the dishes too much rice and not enough sauce/meat. and the only other room for improvement is I have always found it super cool in there, so take an additional cardiac. beautiful view of bruntsfield area where you can watch people. we always make ourselves happy and full. can't wait to come back."

"Friendly staff, a nice take on traditional Japanese fare. There’s no pressure to eat a full meal, even at lunch time (some students dropped by ate only dessert specials), a nice approach. The edamame beans are delicious, the pork donburi very filling! I suspect the miso soup is made to cater for vegans, it doesn’t have the fatty richness of genuine miso broth made from pork bones; the rice in our dishes was not sticky as it would be in Japan, which made eating it with chopsticks more difficult. Slightly disappointing as Chef appeared to be Japanese! The guys found the chicken teriyaki less filling than my donburi, the chicken udon noodles was enjoyed. The Takoyaki (octupus balls) were the star of the show, tasty representative of the real McCoy! Reasonably priced fast service. One to return to."

"the personal was amazing that everyone smiled and really woke up. the presentation of foods was really impressive the visualization and plates. Unfortunately, eating was not so big missing aromas and flavors. ramen nudeln looked rather disappointing not sure what kind of noodles, but tasted like the cheapest. the huh katsu was missing, as mentioned above, also the taste. sushi wasn't bad, can't complain, but not so good for the price. I'm glad we tried this restaurant because we were much interested, but I don't think we're back."

"I regret to say that I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone. The atmosphere was lacking, with only one other table of diners, and the temperature was uncomfortably cold. The quality of the food was poor and the high prices on the bill only added to our disappointment. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant."

"The restaurant was closed and no one contacted us. We had planned to celebrate my mum's 60th birthday there, so we were really disappointed. Thankfully, we found Sushinoen, a restaurant just a 13-minute walk away, which saved our night. The Japanese food was amazing and authentic, highly recommended. We will not be trying Kirin restaurant again and do not recommend it to anyone."

"Great, affordable food, fantastic vegan options. Our waiter, Su-Rui, was incredibly friendly and efficient and made the visit that much more enjoyable. Really calming atmosphere, that was comfortable and intimate. The décor added to the casual atmosphere as well. One of the few places in Edinburgh that serves exquisite Japanese food, definitely worth a visit."

"Pretty ordinary. We ordered starters and mains and it all came out together so the table was full. One dish was given to a different table and sat there for 5 minutes until they realised the error and brought it to us. The staff didn’t clear things off the table and we had to wave them down for additional ordrrs"

"the hotel is located in a small street right in front of the capital, yen sushi was a great foundation. the staff was very friendly. eating is great and just like some other sushi restaurants, depending on the color of the plate they pick up, it determines the price. for me and mt partner we have spent 50 pfunds. the quality of eating was great, although I felt that some dishes were not great or consistent. they can also order hot food, the only thing I thought was strange is that the waitress empty teller would bring with their hot food to represent his worth, instead of just making a note on the table that took place on the table, which then made it a little tight for others. despite the above one still a great visit. they'll be sure if they want it. if their regular sushi eater, they can lack the fish in quality."
