"I have to say I was very surprised how bad my experience was with the Spice Merchant was. It started very badly with the food taking two hours to be delivered. This was after several calls over that period where we were told that the food was on its way and should be with us in five minutes. That was a bad start but the food was just as bad. The only saving grace were the starters of chicken lamb lollipops which were tasty. The main courses were all very disappointing, lacking spice and flavour. They were also swimming in oil. The breads were also flavourless. I don’t like to give reviews like this but in this case it is well deserved especially as it was extremely expensive. £150 for five people. For that kind of money it should have been allot better. Worst curry I have had I recent memory! Service: Delivery Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £30–40"

"I ordered a takeaway which included a vegetable biryani. Normally, this dish is flavorful and packs a punch, but unfortunately, this one lacked taste and was very bland. If I had been blindfolded, I wouldn't have been able to tell it was supposed to be Indian food. There was no seasoning, spices, or heat at all, making it tasteless. The dish was full of roughly cut chunks of raw onion and the French beans were so tough that they were inedible. This has to be the worst Indian takeaway I have ever had. I am so disappointed because the food from this restaurant is usually of high quality, but not on this occasion."

"Very disappointing experience tonight. As a long standing customer who has always enjoyed the food I felt bullied and intimated this evening for pointing out that I had cracked a tooth on the food. I was told I was being rude and that if I complained the waiter would have to pay for my meal. I asked the person next to me if I had been rude and they said certainly not. I have generally enjoyed the food here but after tonight’s dreadful treatment I won’t be back. Go and enjoy the food which is okay but just hope you don’t experience a problem because your experience will turn sour if you raise a concern. Beware the customer service."

"al amin is a really excellent Indian restaurant. it is my favorite of the many Indian restaurants near where I live. it has all the right awards, but is very expensive. the food is excellent, the service friendly, there is none of the pushing power of lane brick, and the standards, weinlist, drinks and atmosphere at al amin are excellent. there are two bus stops from bethnal green, it is on last of bus routes. if they are an east londoner, or in shoreditch and want to go a good price-performance menu, it is really excellent. I think they also take sways online."

"Passed by this restaurant as my son and I were staying nearby. The restaurant was quiet for a Friday night so we were seated straight away. Staff were attentive and friendly, efficient and fast. Started with Poppadoms with chutneys and they were delicious and fresh. I had the Naga lamb which was spicy as advertised but not overpowering. My son has the chicken Jalfrezi, only comment I would make is the chicken 'strips ' were not the best we 've seen maybe I 'm not used to it. We shared an onion rice and garlic naan between us which was ample. Note there is a policy that you have to order one main each. drinks (330ml Fanta) about the norm for London around £2.65 each. Food was pretty good value. Overall impressed, impeccably clean and appeared to be well run. No added service charge, so free to tip if you wish I only had a card and wasn 't given the option to add when paying. Sorry guys ! Better than average without being exc optional. Whilst I wouldn 't go out my way to revisit, it still gets a solid 4 and if I were in Canary Wharf again, which is fairly unlikely, I would happily go back"

"Wonderful meal at The Tigers Pad. This is a favourite local restaurant of mine and my family and I suggested it as a venue for a Christmas get-together to a group of friends some of whom hadn't eaten here before. Excellent authentic Indian food, wonderful service and a real buzz about the place. This is a family run restaurant and they look after their guests beautifully. My friends all loved it and vowed to return. Thank you for a great evening."

"I usually don't write reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience at this restaurant. If you are looking for tasteless food with slow delivery and exorbitant prices, then this is the place for you. A meal for four people, including four beers, one bottle of wine, a shared starter, and only three mains, ended up costing a whopping £220. There was plenty of food left over, not because the portions were large, but because the food was too bland to eat. To top it off, there was a £20 service charge added to the bill, which was difficult to decipher. On top of all of this, the service was poor, making for a nightmarish dining experience at a high price. I would strongly recommend not visiting this restaurant."

"Overall comments: This place was part of our Anonymous dinner rota. We were quite happy during eating and on the day, but the next few days were rough as 3/4 of us were ill. I wouldn’t go again even though the food tasted nice. Go at your own risk as it is good value for money if you can stomach food made in an unclean environment. My order was as follows: Starter(s): Veg Samosa, Hara Kebab, Aloo Tikki Chaat, Chicken Tikka, Side(s): Plain Naan. Food: All the dishes were good and I thought we found a gem. However, 3 of the 4 of us were ill for a few days after. Atmosphere: Music was at a varying loudness. The Seating was not comfy at all. The interior was decent but nothing special. Service: Service was poor. We had to ask for water multiple times and the waiter assigned to our table just didn’t want to listen to us when we asked for things or tried to get his attention. The other waiter was very good when we asked him for assistance. The food arrived at a good speed to the table. Cost: Mid-range and only worth it if your stomach can handle food made in a bad environment."

"I have been to Mr Singhs more times than I can count, and I take everyone important to me in my life to it. It has consistently delicious food — all of which is vegetarian and can be made vegan at no cost. The pizzas are out of this world (with outstanding vegan cheese that they are not stingy about) and so so cheap! The sides are varied and delectable. They have a long menu of burgers and wraps and many items I haven’t yet tried! They also have outstanding vegan cakes in store (the jammy dodger cupcakes are my personal fave). The servers are very kind and friendly, and the experience is amazing whether dining in or taking out. You have to try this place!!!!"

"I visited this restaurant last Sunday and tried their authentic Indian cuisine. I had Vadapav paired with some delicious masala tea and thoroughly enjoyed it! I definitely need to visit again to try out more of their dishes. The service was great, and the atmosphere was wonderful. I highly recommend trying their Pav Bhaji and Samosa. This restaurant is a must-visit for breakfast, with prices ranging from £1-10 per person."

"First time eating here and the food was great. A good selection of tasty dishes that you wouldn't normally find on an Indian restaurant menu (although the usuals are there too), freshly cooked and good sized portions. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the food, recommending suitable dishes. My only criticism of the place is that it was quite noisy in there, so hearing the other end of the table was nigh on impossible but overall the atmosphere was good. I'll definitely be going back to try more dishes."
