"came last night to eat my team christmas. absolutely fantastic experience. our table was reserved in a great place from the crowds. tischservice was great and attentive. every cure took a while to get out, but they were crazy busy so understandable. 9 of us all had the 3-course Christmas meal and between us I think we ordered everything on the menu and everyone loved it. only small criticism is that the heavy was somewhat thin for my lust, but the quality of the food surpasses all expectations. prosecco a very reasonable price that is always a bonus is a really nice bottle. thanks to the staff in the graduate"

"the place has a sporty feeling, so if they are looking for something funny, they go somewhere else. However, we were pleasantly surprised by the great selection of vegan options on the menu. We had to place the order on the bar, but the meals came very fast, within few minutes. we decided to try the Bao-Back with drawn jackfruits, and although they had to replace one of the ingredients as they ran out of it, it was delicious. the Butternuss-Quash mac cheese, on the other hand, had a mild taste and was quite averaged, but there are different dressings to choose to adapt it to their lust. just be careful, not all dressings on the table are vegan, they need to read the label. we come back safely and try other items from the menu, such as grilled vegan cheese or vegan breakfast."

"I usually pop in among meet ups of other friends, and it’s always a great environment and place. Welcoming staff premesis, good drink and good food. Only one time have I ever been disappointed with food nothing else in the establishment and everything was cleared up. Bathrooms upstairs, so could be considered a difficulty to access, but amazing venue and recommended to anyone after a few pints and a chill"

"Absolute joke, me and my partner nipped in for a pint on our way back to our apartment, the place was busy and everyone was friendly so I thought two young girls were sitting at a table for eight so we asked if we could sit down? They told us that they were reserved for friends, so politely I asked if we could sit until there friends arrived then we would move, we were told very arrogantly no, I told the young girls that they we're being unreasonable so they went to the bar and complained, I was then asked to finish my pint and leave, as I tried to ask for a rational explanation for this the bar maid took my pint from me and asked to leave straight away and was lead to the door with a friendly shove in the back for good measure, What a horrible experience at the end of a brilliant day, Come to York, enjoy our historic atmosphere, just don't ask to sit down,"

"located directly at the university campus, the star is a favorite of students looking for a fast bite or a cheap and ambitious night outside. I used to come with mates as a student and I remember a friendly, exciting atmosphere at night. I had particularly good nights when a chic dress or discos were set up here. as for the day it has a varied selection of food and drinks. the menu offers packaging, burger, jackkartoffeln, other pub favorites such as Sunday career to not mention the local favorite palmo. recently I had the Mexican burger and chips, but there is a thing that I must recommend to them to try. the star makes good parmos, great chips and their garlic sauce is d i w i n e. seriously not sure what they do, but it is probably my favorite food spot garlic of all time. the star is open Monday to Thursday 9 o'clock until 19:30 o'clock, while Friday 9-5 are open. Saturday is 10-5 clock and Sunday is 12:00-4:00 clock. Try it! (seriously- or the garlic)"

However, the kitchen was nearly closed, which was evident during our visit. The noise from the busy main road was unpleasant, and the outdoor area was dirty. "I wanted to catch a live football match, and this place did not disappoint. There were plenty of screens, and although we didn't have a reserved table, we found a spot with a gaming console to enjoy as well. The menu was fantastic, and the food was delicious. The availability of teasing oil on tap was a nice bonus. The staff were incredibly friendly and provided excellent service. This is definitely the place to go for live sports if you're in the area."

"In my earlier visit, the food was truly excellent, and the manager took the time to chat with me. However, I noticed that no one mentioned the loyalty program. I found the display and the card only after we had already spent £50, which was disappointing. Additionally, while discussing my experience, the manager brought up an inexperienced employee who was just a couple of feet away behind the bar. It's frustrating when points aren't recognized, especially when there should be better communication among staff. Overall, it's a great place to eat, but there are some areas for improvement in customer service."
