"The service was bad, the waitress took age to serve us, and when we finally asked for the bill. It was wrong that we ordered tap water as there were other drinks, where and on the bill said we were worth £8. The waitress who gave us the tap water even questioned us when we had the drinks. The restaurant had about 4 tables full, so there was no confusion. The food was average. The service was bad, and when the bill was wrong, it was when they were annoyed to us because they noticed it was wrong. Atmosphere wasn't pleasant a nice meal we thought it wasn't waiting to leave the place. Wouldn't recommend a friend."

"Asian restaurants (Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese) pre-prepare their meat for use in stir-frys and curries etc. This process involves soaking the meat in water after slicing the meat into bite size pieces. This process removes all traces of blood but also has the unfortunate side effect of removing all the taste too. Not all restaurants do this. But it is easy to recognise the ones that do. They are the ones that serve vile tasteless meat in their dishes that is similar to eating a piece of week old chewing gum instead of pork, beef, chicken. Sadly, Sabai Thai Gastrobar is one of these restaurants. I ordered a takeaway of Pad Gra Prow (Stir fried holy basil) and whilst it looked fine, and it was certainly spicy enough, the meat (pork) was tasteless and disgusting. As the meat for all dishes will almost certainly be prepared the same way (not including fish dishes) then it is safe to assume that the majority of their dishes will be tasteless and disgusting. Shame really as I had high hopes but I'm afraid I won't be returning. The dish cost me £14.95 which is the same price for takeaway or eat-in. Why is this the case in Brighton? Every other city in the UK has a dine-in price and a takeaway price which is generally 20% discount. Anyway, I won't be eating here again."

"We have been using this restaurant since we moved to the area in 2019. The menu which has changed recently in my opinion is awful. They have taken away lots of the menu items, rearranged the menu in the weirdest headings but most of all the food quality has dropped massively. It’s time to find a new Chinese restaurant to deliver some better food with a more regular and standard menu. What a shame that it has gone so down hill."

"A group of us decided to have a take away from here, what an expensive disappointment! Firstly the portion sizes are embarrassing...you would expect at this cost to receive a bigger portion, nope... they skimp on everything! I ordered a Massaman curry...probably the worst I've ever had...it was extremely watery, sloshing around in the tiny Tupperware. There were a few undercooked hard potatoes carrots in it and some oddly textured pieces of chicken (maybe 4 pieces). Dreadful! The portion of rice was tiny and the Fish cake starter was like eating a piece of rubber! A tiny piece of rubber at that! The rest of the group were not happy with their orders either! I just had to write a review because its an embarrassing representation of Thai food! I've been to Thailand many times, and its one of my favourite countries...the food is incredible there. Not here! Avoid! One thing I will add is that the service is good and friendly. Thats about it."

"The food and value are great, but unfortunately the day I went with my colleagues the service was horrendous. There were only 2 girls working the entire restaurant and it showed; we struggled to get our drinks served and had to correct them a few times after they got it wronged. We also had to ask them for a wipe after the waitress spilled hot water all over our table. They also got our food order wrong, and I had to wait for my food after everyone else had been served. I would go again but only when they are fully staffed!"

"Excellent food but a curious staff attitude. Reserved a table on “Open Table” and arrived to a cold lifeless reception. The restaurant was not full but we were shown to an awkward table between the main traffic flow and a table of six guys in dirty work attire, thanks but no thanks we will have that nice romantic big table over there… much better! Do staff not think what does the customer want? Who wants to sit there? Good food well presented and tasty. Decent wine list. All hand sanitisers were empty and dirty. The toilets need a damn good cleaning. The whole place needs a revamp, poor lighting, no background music and it feels like a school dining room with pictures. We would return but only if no where else was available, previous reviews are much too generous in their comments and lack any critical review. We rated it 5/10, could do much better and be much happier."

"I recently had the pleasure of dining at SoPa Thai, and it was truly a delightful experience! The moment I walked in, the atmosphere transported me to a world of Thai sophistication and allure. The culinary exploration began with Tom Kha, a delightful combination of coconut milk, galangal, and lemongrass. Each spoonful was a delicious harmony of creamy and zesty flavors that perfectly complemented the tender chicken pieces. It wasn't just soup; it felt like a warm embrace in a bowl. Next, the beautifully presented Green Curry arrived. The curry was a work of art, filled with the richness of green chilies and fragrant basil leaves. The vegetables were fresh, and the chicken was incredibly tender, all bathed in a sauce that was the perfect blend of spicy and sweet. Then came the highlight of the evening, Pad Thai. The noodles were coated in a flavorful tamarind sauce, mixed with eggs, tofu, and a generous sprinkling of crushed peanuts. The dish was a delightful mix of textures and flavors that left my taste buds amazed. The grand finale was the Mango and Sticky Rice. The mango was ripe and sweet, a wonderful complement to the warm yet slightly salty sticky rice. Drizzled with coconut milk, this dessert was not just a treat but a festival of flavors. In summary, SoPa Thai is more than just a restaurant; it's a culinary paradise. Each dish showcased the chef's expertise in balancing flavors and textures. If you're in search of an authentic Thai dining experience, SoPa Thai is the place to go. Their Tom Kha, Green Curry, Pad Thai, and Mango Sticky Rice take you on a journey through the heart of Thailand. I highly recommend it!"

"Located 10 minute stroll from Leicester Sq tube, and with huge competition from rest of Soho this restaurant is small but clean, well organised and very friendly. Efficient service and very pleasant and good humoured staff. The food we had a six dish rijstaffel rice table was superb with the highlights being very fresh plump prawns, lightly battered calamari, most tasty dishes of beef and chicken, and quite the best satay peanut sauce that we have had since the Rasa Sayang restaurant in Frith St closed down and that was 20 years ago! The cost, including a very nice bottle of wine was about £50 for the two of us and the value and quality means that we will be back the next time we are in town, and heartily recommend this eatery to anyone in the soho area. 10/10"

"terrible. randomly in this place for a fast pre-theater dinner. terrible. I wish we hadn't. the waitress was incredibly rude, the food medium was best. with so many good places to eat in london, this restaurant deserves to go out of business. made me sick to pay for this experience. it is the Thai equivalent of mcdonalds, except in mcdonalds the employees are generally polite and eating is cheap."

"We booked this for my birthday dinner and could not fault it. From when we arrived and throughout the night the staff were very welcoming and could not do enough for you, especially OJ. The food was excellent and very tasty and very well presented. We also enjoyed the huge range of cocktails available and entertainment. We had a thoroughly enjoyable evening and would definitely recommend and will be going back shorty. Also, as it was my birthday, they presented me with a birthday dessert plate, was very spoilt, thank you. Whether going for just a drink or a meal this is the place to go."

"loving Thai food, found the place through the taste card, so it was amazing worth as the food 50% off. they love the red curry with cocosy. will definitely return. the only bottom is the reservation, they are not very flexible with the time and I have not even able to book the time I want, it was always half an hour later or so, even if we arrive, the place is always empty as we go in early."

"When we first went into the restaurant, we were a bit dubious as it was located on its own, no other restaurants were about and it was really quiet inside. However, the food was brilliant and the staff were so accomodating and helpful. They substituted some vegetables for my friend and made my dish more spicy upon my request. I was also pleasantly surprised how reasonably priced the whole meal was. Will definately be returning and have recommended it to friends who work closeby."

"We were served by a beautiful lady who was delightful. The food was absolutely delicious, and we can't wait to return. My partner enjoyed the duck with tamarind sauce, while I had a dish with rice and tasty crumbs. I must say, the name of our beautiful server brings a gentle smile to my face."

"I have been to Patara in Knightsbridge and Soho and absolutely loved it. However, this one was horrible. I went with my partner for Valentines. Firstly, the service was appalling. We waited for over minutes just to get the drinks and kept being asked if we ordered by different waiters so many times, as if there’s no communication between them. My main arrived minutes after his, which was again unbelievable. I had the pineapple curry and it was delicious. He had the pad thai that was clearly off. We’ve both had pad thai in Patara before and this one tasted nothing like it. He returned the pad thai and received his duck very quickly after that, which was the only good thing about the service. When we were done, nobody came to take the plates, so until we paid the empty plates were just there. Absolutely horrible"

"Popped into the bar as they were advertising cocktails and gin. The cocktails we ordered were 2 for 1 up to 9 pm. When the waiter asked if we would like another we realised it was a few minutes after 9. Asked if happy hour still applied and was told no. Wondering why he waited until just after 9 when our glasses had been empty for a short while.... Anyway, we decided to order from their gin menu instead. Our first choice was unavailable so made our second choice and asked for doubles. After 10 minutes the waiter reappeared to say they only had enough of our second choice for singles. He said they were having a delivery the following day. The next day we thought we would pop in again. Asked for one of the gi on the menu, it was still unavailable so asked for our second choice( same as the previous evening) only to be informed after 10 minutes that it was unavailable too. What a shame that two of their better gins on the menu were out of stock and all they had to offer were fairly standard gins. Surely they must have a stock control system or perhaps they should consider sending a staff member to the local Waitrose which was only 100 metres away! A disappointing finish to an otherwise lovely day. Don’t rush here if you plan on drinking gin."

"My mistrust of certain cuisines being cooked well in London restaurants has left me either missing out completely or just eating my favourite foods on a very in frequent basis. The Mexican revolution that happened what, last year. Yes, I was the only one who never went to certain joints to try their tacos and wraps. Mexican food does not travel well. It should. Like any other complicated cuisine it just takes time and a bit of love to reproduce those wonderful dishes. But for some reason all we get here is a slap dash bad reproduction churned out to the masses as gourmet food. Tacos are not gourmet food. You go to Mexico and tacos are less than 10p each and sold on street corners as a quick snack. Thai food, also has that same feeling with me. I love Thai food, in Thailand, just not over awed with it here in London. Although I have found a few places that I think do a pretty **** good job of recreating another great food on these shores. Kaosarn is another exponent of this. I'd been"
