A delightful sandwich filled with creamy tuna salad, crisp lettuce, and juicy tomatoes, served on freshly baked bread.

"I've used Rose Bud Café several times since my last visit and must say that the food is CONSISTENTLY EXCELLENT from here matched only by the top-notch service. I always opt for the Mega-breakfast and it's always beautifully cooked and delivered piping hot. I can...therefore unhesitatingly recommend this excellent café and its excellent staff: thanks again. :"

"We took a friend who was visiting here because it has a reputation for great food and good value for money. Unfortunately, our experience belies this reputation somewhat. Two of us had sausage and mash. The sausages were tiny little things and one of the oversized plates came out with a miserable-looking portion of mash: it was miserly. To their credit, the staff provided extra mash when we complained, but really, it shouldn't have come out of the kitchen like that (potatoes cost very little compared to the cost of the meal). I had the halloumi burger, with chips. Again, the chips came out in one of those ridiculous baskets (so they look more than they are). The burger had plenty of halloumi in it but that's about all that can be said of it. We might have been happy with the meal overall, if it had been reasonably priced. But, in our view, it was at least two pounds a head too much and the halloumi burger possibly more."

"Had no idea this place existed until we moved offices recently. It's a pretty small cafe with limited seating and the queue is out the door at lunch time. It's definitely worth waiting in it though. Nice coffee (maybe a tad expensive) and good traybakes. Bread is fresh and numerous fillings to choose from. Staff are always really friendly. I would recommend to anyone looking to try somewhere different for lunch in Belfast"

"I visited this restaurant on Monday, July 3rd. I looked at the menu outside before going inside. A man walked out with his lunch and held the door for me, but I told him I was still deciding. He then stopped and told me it's a great place and showed me his salad, which was very filling. I usually don't order salads because they are too small, but this one looked good. Instead of a panini, I decided to try the Monday special - chili nachos with extra cheese and jalapenos. I also had a small cappuccino, which was better than the large one because of the amount of chocolate sprinkles. Both coffees were great. The chili nachos were delicious and came in a large portion. I couldn't finish it all but they offered to pack it up for me. The food had the perfect amount of heat from the jalapenos. I asked about their breakfast options and they said they can accommodate substitutions for a small fee, which is no problem. I plan on trying their fish finger sandwich special on Fridays. The menu is extensive with daily specials starting at 11.30am and breakfast options before that. They also serve jacket potatoes, baguettes, sandwiches, and paninis with a wide variety of fillings. The prices are reasonable and they offer a takeout menu. The atmosphere is cozy with indoor and outdoor seating. The staff were friendly and attentive, making me feel welcome. I highly recommend trying this restaurant as I doubt you will be disappointed with the food or the experience."

"Good quality home baking, soup and proper toasted sandwiches. If the weather is kind it is lovely to sit in the garden among the fuchsia bushes.Service is friendly. The only issue is with the 'tradition ' that seems to have developed on Iona (and much of Mull) where businesses close down completely at the end of the season . Visitors to Scotland no longer restrict themselves to the traditional season in the same way as a few years ago, so although visitor numbers are obviously higher in the Spring and Summer, they do not disappear come October. Coach loads of tourists still arrive at Ffionnphort every day and the vast majority take the ferry over to Iona.It is a shame that visitors to somewhere as special as Iona are faced with closed businesses from as early as mid-October.If you visit between Easter and October, it 's well worth a visit for a hot drink and cake on your way to or from the abbey."

"We visited today, Sunday 29th October. Ordered two bacon and sausage barms and two pulled beef ciabattas and asked the waiter specifically for one without cheese the waiter later confirmed that we had indeed specified this) When our meal came both ciabattas had a considerable amount of cheese on them so we politely and quietly asked for one to be replaced with one without cheese. From nowhere came the chef/owner shouting and ranting about not changing the menu for ANYBODY. We were absolutely stunned and extremely embarrassed as the cafe was almost full of equally amazed customers. All four of us left our food and went to pay the £55 bill in the shop, whilst in the process of actually paying the bill were harrassed again by the chef who threatened us with the police if we didn’t pay! We have been fairly regular customers here for quite a few years and have recommended it to many friends and were thrilled to find it reopened today. BIG MISTAKE HUGE! This man seriously needs an Anger Management course. Goodness knows what would happen if you asked for a vegetarian or vegan option or had a serious food allergy. AVOID AT ALL COSTS"

"quirky small place with a proud hull heritage. nostalgic music from the 50s and a full atmosphere. eating is homemade and there is a lot of choice. we had a afternoon tea for 2 £6 per and it was delish! fresh bread and high quality ingredients. the dead had to die, and the owner and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. can not wait for a return next week and would tell them all very well, do they please one and stop them for a great eating experience."

"This cafe is situated in the perfect place to while away an hour people watching. Sadly, it has no ambiance, grubby tables with used plates etc and a ridiculous rule not allowing china cups and plates for tea and cake outside. Paper cups and boxes for cake with those horrible wooden forks and no serviette. And yet……there were plates on the tables that had been used and a lady came out with a china plate with food on covered with cling film. When I questioned the young lady serving she was a bit bulshy and said there’s a notice on the till stand. Unfortunately it was covered with a tray so I didn’t see it. She didn’t draw my attention to the sign or mention the paper cups etc. I paid £15 for tea and cake which I was ok with if it had been served in a way that warranted that price. Great cake and lovely tea totally spoilt by ‘cardboard’ crockery and a bulshy attitude. Won’t be returning."

"The warmest of welcomes. Our daughter has a milk intolerance and the owners (lady out front and husband chef, we think? , we’re very accommodating and helpful. We had a children’s breakfast and two regular breakfasts. The food was lovely, very clean (i.e., not an oily mess! , bacon and sausage clearly top quality farm meat, everything was spot on. My only reservation, and reason for 4 stars instead of 5, is that it’s quite expensive for the size of meal you get… the regular breakfast has only one sausage and one egg, which isn’t huge for a tenner, if I’d added in a couple of bits to make it a good belly buster I’d be well into 15 quid or more, which is a bit steep i think. One more sausage and an extra egg and this would be one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had! Thanks, we will return!"

"I found myself in the chef and manager a few times and I wonder why I can't say I'm eating here all the time. it is easy to be seduced by the larger restaurants in the region that shouted for their attention, but I find this dining shop to have a warm and ambiente most lacking, and this is certainly created by veronika and the personal and their quiet, inviting arrangement. the always lovely chef of cuisine almost always turns out his head with real smiles and nods and you just don't get that very often. Relaxing and simply enjoy sitting, eating is always tasteful, the menus well thought out and creatiw and the presentation deliciously inviting. ideal for business, family or intimate meals, I recommend that you make the effort or travel and sink into a beautiful culinary experience."

"This takeaway cafe serves delicious, fresh food at a good price. The salads and rolls are excellent and filling and the fruit pots are amazing. Filled to the brim with fresh and exotic fruit. I have no idea where it comes from but as well as berries, grapes, melon, oranges and apples you will always get some exotic fruit. We have had , passion fruit, kumquat, kiwi, mango, pomegranate seeds at different times When you visit make sure you have the orange trifle too……it’s the best I have ever had, apart from my gran’s of course! We live 25 mins away from Dunbar, we wish we lived nearer beaus of the Food Hamper!"
