"This cafe is situated in the perfect place to while away an hour people watching. Sadly, it has no ambiance, grubby tables with used plates etc and a ridiculous rule not allowing china cups and plates for tea and cake outside. Paper cups and boxes for cake with those horrible wooden forks and no serviette. And yet……there were plates on the tables that had been used and a lady came out with a china plate with food on covered with cling film. When I questioned the young lady serving she was a bit bulshy and said there’s a notice on the till stand. Unfortunately it was covered with a tray so I didn’t see it. She didn’t draw my attention to the sign or mention the paper cups etc. I paid £15 for tea and cake which I was ok with if it had been served in a way that warranted that price. Great cake and lovely tea totally spoilt by ‘cardboard’ crockery and a bulshy attitude. Won’t be returning."

The only Riverside café in Abingdon with plenty of seating and a nice cup of coffee. Serves cakes and ice creams as well as creamed teas. The best café in Abingdon when the weather is nice enough to be seated outside and good with dogs.

Would not recommend for several reasons: Firstly, if you’re vegetarian or vegan you have a very Very limited menu. I really struggled to find something to eat. I went for the vegan key lime cake and I’m sorry to say this but it was awful!...

Annies welcomes children, dogs and muddy Thames Path Walkers and with a smile, no less! We had the best experience here dining for lunch after a walk along the Thames. We had service with a smile and tasty food and cakes. I will sing the praises of Annies to everyone who will listen. It's truly a gem on the river!

Annies is a nice cafe, in a great spot down by the river. The staff are friendly and the food is good enough but not the cheapest. The building looks a bit tired but overall this is a really nice spot for a sandwich or cake watching the boats go by. There's with plenty of outdoor seating. It can get busy on a sunny day!

We popped in for a cuppa, some cake and ice creams. The staff were so lovely, friendly and helpful. We had a query with one of the coffees and they immediately offered to replace it all with a smile and apology you don’t often get service like that now days so thank you!. Didn’t order food as we had a picnic with us but will give it a try nice time we ate that way

Pleasant spot by the river, I went in often with my husband for a coffee and snack after a walk but on Monday the waitress told me to have a look at the new menu and even she was embarrassed by the price hikes. A coronation chicken s/wich with no accompaniments £8.95 plus 50p as I wanted it toasted and £7.50 for a brie and cranberry again plus 50p to be toasted! I could have gone elsewhere and got a full lunch for that price! Sorry Annies but I wont be returning, shame as it used to be upperscale reasonable..
