"I booked a table for 2 really last minute on a busy December night, piccolio’s manger cosimo took the booking, he was so friendly and helpful that we really needed after a hard work in the cold winter weather! we went in and the restaurants that were breathtaking have woken us! the decor is stylish and above all it was so warm and cozy what we needed, we were greeted with smiles all around by every worker and was immediately taken on our table, without waiting time what ever! we were so swollen! Shortly after we sat, we tamara welcomed them beautiful, well presented and extremely polite. we thought up the menu, while tamara served us the most delicious Rosè Prosecco and took our orders. it was a hard choice, as we wanted to order one of all, the menu choices sound exquisite! so much choice and catering for all food requirements. my own and my friend decided to go for the spaghetti frutti di mare, which was absolutely inconceivable! muddle, mush and calamari topped with a huge garlic king prawn! it didn't take long until there were two empty teller and full bell! we stayed and talked together about the life and there was no hurry to move us from table to tamara has checked us we were so glad to have chosen piccolino chester for our girly dinner date and just wanted to say a massive thank you to cosimo, tamara and the piccolino team. I can't wait to come back to another fantastic evening."

"We were truly impressed by our experience at the restaurant. Upon arrival, we were greeted with warm smiles and asked if we needed vegetarian, gluten-free, or any special menus. They also offered us the option to have a drink at the bar or go straight to our table. Our coats were promptly taken to the coat room, and our drink orders were immediately taken. The waiter was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu; when I mentioned the ingredients of a cocktail I had found online, he instantly recognized it. The service continued to be exceptional throughout our visit. The food was outstanding, beautifully presented, and exactly as described on the menu. The portions were generous, leaving no room for disappointment. We truly couldn't have asked for a better experience and will definitely return. The manager, whose name I unfortunately didn’t catch, was a true asset to the establishment."

"I took my mum and mother in law for high tea and we were delighted the moment we stepped in, amazing decor and absolutely stunning dining hall! Never seen anything like that before! We booked via phone and we were asked for card details first I was bit reluctant but they explained due to everything made fresh for diners we want to make sure nothing goes to waste as they do not take walk-ins, they also assured card won't be charged until dining and there is no cancellation fee if cancelled in advance, which made sense! We like afternoon tea/high tea but I can assure I have never had such an amazing tea before! Everything was so fresh, from scones to sandwiches and pastries! They also gave us surprises with hot and cold canapés which were freshly baked! Which made sense for calling it high tea! As there was so much to eat, freshly baked hot bread with butter was scrumptious! We will be back it was the best high tea we ever had!"

The attention to detail is staggering, the food amazing, the service impeccable, even down to having napkins refolded when we occasionally left the table things like that really make restaurants stand out. "We had the Tasting Menu and the service can get a little slow so be warned. Most of the dishes were excellent both in cooking and presentation but a few were too fussy with too many flavours competing for attention. However, it is always a memorable experience coming to Sketch and that can't be said for many restaurants."

"so happy that this fantastic place has found in the city. I loved the interieur that brings the memories back to me to work in bayern years ago. the beer was fantastic and I had a nice ham and kartoffel salad, which was a great light lunch. I was a bit jealous when I saw the sausages were brought up next to me. the atmosphere was great, staff very friendly! defo will be back soon for another pint! and the next time! thank you team and well done!"

"Terrible. Went for Champagne Afternoon tea on a Saturday. Arrived early and was put into a small room to the left and waited. Assumed this was a waiting room as we were early. A waiter finally showed up 20 minutes later and asked if we were there for the afternoon tea and then dropped two menus on the coffee table and walked away. 10 minutes later he came back and explained the menu and dietarys. We advised that we disliked 2 items, so he said these would be switched. The waiter then brought a tray and set up the coffee table for service. This was confusing as we'd booked into the restaurant, not a drawing room. The seats were uncomfortable to sit for 2 hours and the fire went out so it became cold quickly. We then got our tea, but we had to ask again for the glass of champagne, we finally got this 1 hour after arriving. When the afternoon tea food arrived, it was average at best. Definitely not worth the money. They hadn't switched the items we didn't want and some of the food was inedible. The salmon sandwich finger was good and couple of the dessert items were good. The scones were very dry and hard, they hadn't even been warmed. The carrot cake was also very dry. Once we ate we then waited for someone to come by so we could ask for the bill. No one came past again, so we got up and went to the desk to settle the bill and leave. Overall very poor, definitely not worth the £65 per person. Avoid."

"My friend and I visited a concert at the Apollo and decided to grab a bite to eat beforehand. We were warmly welcomed by a lovely server and promptly seated. Our food arrived quickly and was delicious with generous portions. The restaurant was very clean, though I would suggest adding tablecloths for a nice touch. The prices were reasonable and I would recommend this restaurant without hesitation."

"we went to my man's birthday, together with his mother. she is the fraught esser on the planet and even she found something on the menu she could (and did) eat. my man had the blue cheese brûlée and I had the potato and soup for a starter, both were delicious. my mother-in-law had the blue cheese brûlée as main course, my man had steak and I had the fish and chips. all three meal times surpassed the expectations that the steak was made to perfection, the fish was in a crispy, but soft and fresh inside, the chips were boiled three times and very tasteful! we split a cheese plate to finish while mil cream had brûlée. the cheese plate was much for two and the cream brûlée was cleaned quite quickly. excellently round and very attentive and knowledgeable in front of the house staff. highly recommended."

"We dined at this restaurant before attending a matinee show at the Apollo, which was only a 10-minute walk away. The food was good, portions were generous, and the prices were reasonable. The restaurant was quite empty, with only our party of two and one other couple dining. The waiter mentioned that it gets much busier in the evening."

"We had the tasting menu with the wine pairings. Everything was delicious and our waiters and sommelier Olympia couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. We were there for sunset in outdoor seating and the view was spectacular. The wind picked up later in the evening so they pulled some clear wind breaker blinds and turned on wall heaters . Overall a beautiful evening. Would highly recommend"
