"OpenTable dining cheques beware!Earlier this week I made a reservation through the Opentable website at the restaurant and clearly stated that I intended to use a OpenTable dining cheque. At no point was I contacted beforehand to say this was not accepted at Lemoni. Upon arrival at the restaurant, an employee also confirmed the fact that I had a dining cheque and I offered to show it to her but she said it wasn't necessary and proceeded to seat us inside. It was only after discussing menu options, ordering our food with the waiter and then waiting for our food to arrive when another employee asked to see the dining cheque. He returned to say the manager wasn't able to accept it, even after I pointed out the cheque says "Redeemable at any UK restaurant bookable on OpenTable" and we were never told this beforehand, despite multiple opportunities to do so. As one can imagine, we were put in an awkward and potentially embarrassing situation as we had already ordered food with the dining cheque in mind. To avoid causing a scene and making things worse, I reluctantly obliged and we ended up having to pay the full amount with no effort on the part of the restaurant to take any further actions.I feel the situation could have been handled much better and there had clearly been a breakdown of communication somewhere. Thankfully we were able to pay the full cost with other means but this may not always be the case with other customers and the experience has unfortunately soured my impression of the place for any future visits, making it hard to recommend"

"OMG! This place is a hidden gem in Cheltenham. I've got a chance to visit the place accidently while I was in cheltenham and TBH this is the best of the best Sri Lankan restaurant in UK. First of the atmosphere is very cozy and gives true Sri Lankan vibes. With the decor it's increased furthermore. The service was above and beyond. Floor staff was very quick and highly supportive when I asked about the food and the choices. Specially Thilini and Eva (as I can remember) was very knowledgeable about the ingredients and process of how the food are made and they both have amazing customer service skills. Finally the food. As a Sri Lankan I can personally guarantee the food is way better than the ones we are getting in Sri Lanka. My taste buds literally blown away. Precisely mixed with curries and spices. Not even a single bit wrong. Their chicken kottu is a must try dish. And also the hot butter cuttlefish is something I've never expected. It had buttery flavor with bit of spiciness. And the hopper is something out of this world. Hopper comes with three small curry ish things to eat with (coconut sambol, onion sambol, lunu miris made with chili) . Main thing is the food and service you get in here is truly worth for the money. And also they have awesome cocktail range to try. Make sure to book a table before you visit this place since as I heard this is almost housefull everyday. This was the first time I felt like I was In my home country after I come to the UK. Must visit place and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Dietary restrictions: You can always ask from the staff about allergies and food ingredients. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Squid and Prawn Curry, Sri Lankan Mixed Fried Rice, Egg Hopper, Coconut Sambal, Mango Curry, Vegan Kutthu, Cuttlefish, Hoppers, Curried Chicken Recommendation for vegetarians: Somewhat recommend"
