"Congratulations to Alex Webb on his commitment. The bad quality of food and service was so obvious that we asked if he was in the kitchen and was told that he was gone to celebrate this. In his absence, despite the best efforts of the restaurant manager, our dinner was to dispute his name. The cod was not so bad to be sent back – simply overcooked and without life and taste. However, the pig was sent back – hard and a challenge to the jaw muscles; the second portion was a little better, but still very common. The main courses manifested a (very heavy hand in the kitchen, especially with the salt. And the pane (biscuit???? under the chocolate ball for Dessert seemed to be put on some concrete from a site – we didn't risk our teeth on it. The first bottle of white wine that was presented to us was warm and the wine therefore tasted like sugar water; we said there was a problem with the refrigerators, but a second bottle was properly cooled and how it should be. We didn't get crispy potatoes like cod, nor at first serving a spoon for barley with pork or forks for desserts. A good meal should lift the spirits, but although we were only for a meal and the wines (which were a positive element of our dinner and nothing for the service, this was simply depressing. We went home to have a glass of good Calvados to remove the coating of salt from our mouth and the damage that made our digestive tract. Since the restaurant is open only for four nights a week, we were surprised that Alex Webb should choose to lack a Friday dinner service It seems that the Alex Webb Restaurant without Alex Webb could be a crime under the Trades Descriptions Act."
