"Quirky place for dinner. Owner, waiter, chef does the lot by himself. Entree with assorted things socca, eggplant confit, tapenade, zucchini flowers and other things delicious but not exactly sure. Then the magic of fire with the vertical broche above vegetables nicely cooked and finished in butter, followed by desert with a citrus and anise flavoured cake topped with cream. Finished with the home made basil liquor. All delicious in a backdrop of a slideshow of photos of Menton, 60s French crooners playing just a bit loud and an extensive written history of the area for you to enjoy. People turned away even though he was not full as were we, almost! Book if you can."

Yes, it's a nice experience, and there is really nothing fundamentally wrong with it, but it's that kind of restaurant you'll do once just because of the unique experience. Can recommend though.

A great experience, both humanly and culinary! A lover of mentonnais culture, the leader is incredible. The presentation of the dishes is as remarkable as the taste. I strongly recommend and we are going to come back! Ps: thanks again for the digestives!! View menu

We were directed to this little restaurant by some local folks we met in a bar. We were so delighted with our meal that we returned two nights later. Food was wonderful and totally authentic French cooking. It was presented in an unusual way and everything was fantastic. We had both beef and fish. I loved everything about the restaurant and hope to return.

Although the restaurant do not offer all the fancy view of the beach etc… Christian ist the Man! You don’t have an overloaded menu, but there is meat, fisch vegetarian. All based on the same recipe. Beside the fact that the food was great, later in the evening, Christian let us try some homemade liqueur (Basil, Lemon, Thyme, etc… which are pretty awesome but so was Christian in entertaining us… I loved it…

It was amazing experience. We ordered set of dishes with burning meat, fish and veggies. Everything was fresh, delicious. Owner who happens to be a cook, took a very good care of us, made sure that dishes were lovely served and we felt like home. Veggies were juicy and sweet, fish and beef amazing, and dessert lemon pudding I guess was heaven in my mouth! It is real, local Menton cusine that everyone should try! View menu

We went to A Braijade Meridiounale for dinner to celebrate a Special Day in our lives and we had a wonderful meal, full of surprises of good food! You choose one of the menues, the owner waiter does all the cooking and serving himself and he does it with the honour. Brouchettes flambées, a vegetarian starter and a cheese plate to complete the dinner all accompanied with local wines. This is absolutely worth a visit when you are in Menton, great value for money! We can strongly recommend this restaurant.

This was the best we had by far in Menton. Most of the food in Menton is Italian and not French. This was much more like the French food I remember and dream about. Good from the aperitif to the olives and veggies to the flaming entré with the best veggies both in preparation and variety of our trip. Little exquisite touches like basil pesto EVOO drizzle and a tomato ragout under rice. A dessert of chocolate mousse/ pudding with a citrus topping and a dessert “cafe de Menton” of a basil liqueur. From first taste to last, amazing. So thankful not everything is Italian food. BTW all was gluten free! Another huge bonus for me!! Merci!

"the location was attractive. a small picturesque square slightly in draw with a foliage and Mediterranean charm. the restaurant had an outdoor terrace but we decided to eat inside. rustic decoration well maintained. abundance of natural stones and plaster walls of rustic color, nice vaulted type ceiling and terracotta tile floor. We loved him. the kitchen was visible on the path of the toilet and everything seemed chief, busy and good omen. Unfortunately, it's the end of the good news. My wife chose to start with the anchovies leaf and I am the raw ham. The anchovie was not good. Very strange flavor. Too salty. hard dough background. My ham was cut too thick, making the meal difficult. I had to ask for olive oil and gem salt. certainly not the best ham I've had. no comparison with parma or iberico. disappointing. the main dishes were the fish pot and the spaghetti with ceps. Both were a disaster. The fish were cut off. filled with small but important bones. the two rather sad gambas were small and boiled to death. the portion of fish and the quality at the price were bad. Maybe the bisque was swept. The pasta was not good and we left them. we paid 72 euros for this and a very small glass of medium wine and a bottle of flat water. I think chin food is usually not good. French are rather complacent and seem to believe that their historical reputation is enough. Not if. the area is very frequented by tourists and I guess most are unlikely to return to the area, so they think they can get away with it. It's a shame and I couldn't recommend this restaurant. we visit the family regularly to chin, so we would like to find a decent restaurant at a reasonable price. even our family seems to have a bad time. Why? It's the france."
