"If you have ever been to Meersburg (and you know a bit about prices in Germany), you’ll know this beautiful city is a bit pricy when it comes to eating. Meals around here have a tendency to be kind of gourmet like and the prices...look more Swiss than German. Fully aware of this, I tried to look for a place with decent food and reasonable prices. My search led me to the Alemmanen-Torke, a wine cellar with a tempting daily menu posted outside. The outside of the restaurant looks quite normal, maybe even boring, but when you walk in you discover a beautiful wine cellar that makes you feel you crossed a time portal and landed some 300 years back in time. The waiter was friendly and the service excellent. The food was delicious, better than expected, and the wine, oh the wine, was great. Depending on where you come from, the amount of wine per glass will make you smile (it’s a lot If you’re not looking for a high cuisine experience but rather for a nice meal in a beautiful room, this is your restaurant. Some 18 to 20 euros per person will be enough to enjoy a sufficiently big dish (wine included). Don’t forget to tip, it is customary in Germany. One last thing, this is a wine producing area of Germany. I know, when you thing Germany you think beer. You can get beers here as well just don’t be disappointed if they’re nothing special. Try the wine instead, trust me on this one."

looks good from the outside, but eating came lukewarm and tasted as if it were microwave. first I thought it was just me, but then I talked to the person I came with, and they felt the same way.

we wanted to get away from the busy underground road. with a short and steep hike on the road we found it. we just tried the flame cake, which was good. we were interested in piece and rest, and a pleasant atmosphere, and we found it

because the whole meesburg is only a big tourist trap, this is probably not bad than any other place here. but eating (this strange pizza) was frozen and served almost cold. friendly service. they only stop here if desperate (as we were.)

Mateo, the previous reviewer, lead us to go here. What a find, thank you fellow reviewers. Unpretentious food. Not over priced. Good portion sizes. The venison in spicy sauce was a particular highlight. Great for dinner. Super local wine and service. View menu

We've been looking for a late dinner and it is the rare place where the kitchen was open till 10 pm. Asked for something not in the menu for our child was not a problem and was delicious. Good wine and food for grown...ups. Very friendly and quick service.

Because of heavy rainfall we ended up in Alemannen and what a nice surprise! Food was lovely (had zwiebelnrostbraten) and the atmosphere is great! Staff is very friendly and dining in the cellar is like going back in time for hundreds of years. Highly recommended!

Came in for lunch with my family at 2:30pm after the normal lunch crowd. Very clean place and attentive, professional staff. With no prompting brought coloring books and pencils, which kept my kids occupied. We all ordered off the daily menu (on the chalkboard outside)....We had maultaschen, linzen mit wurst, and kartoffelsuppe. All was exceptionally good. Great place to stop when visiting Meersburg. We drifted into this very cozy restaurant on a short stay in Meersburg. Their menu features a section for regional specialties , and we enjoyed the locally caught fish. since asparagus was in season, we decided to add this to our dinner, and this was...a good decision. The asparagus was meltingly tender, the fish was fresh and excellent. Service was attentive without being obtrusive. This historic wine cellar is a beautiful venue, and we can only recommend it to anybody coming to this area!

decided to stop in meersburg for a late lunch and had some look online and when we arrived at our first choice, we found it closed although it should be opened after the web. many thanks to internet, where. we at the end of the afternoon was so good. it was a scorching hot day and the place looked closed when everyone was out of the table, but we saw a sign that they were open and cared in the inner. no customers inside, but was thrilled by the cool of the dining room, as it seems to have been dug out the rocks and was exactly what we needed to escape the heat. we had a nice lunch with traditional German farewell, served with a smile of some great waiting staff who would no longer have done....

"It's hot. Even now at 19:00 the heat is brewing in the streets and walls. Here and there a gift from the lake. Cool comes the gentle breeze. A breath of air. Meersburg is burning! No, the whole region around Lake Constance is on fire. Where to look: cherry brandy, apple brandy, fruit brandy! What a fire! When deciding for Meersburg as a resort, I didn't know how dangerous it is here. At night, I take desperate attempts to prevent an area fire by posting wine and water bottle right next to my bed. But it always burns. Once the meat was too tough, then the supplement too fat, the Sauerrahm too powerful, despite all precautions, the fire breaks out again! In the evening we visit the Gutsschänke in the Oberstadt. Here it goes rustically. The hostess runs a strict regiment. She's put down where she's told. Well, what do you want her to do? People want to enjoy the extraordinary view of the lake on the terrace, which can measure with the view of the terrace hotel Weißhaar. Since the homo modernsis wants to have everything, but not to afford it, this is where it culminates: at reasonable prices, the most beautiful view of little space and extensive satisfaction of basic needs. The Gutsschänke works in its own direction, but is obliged to pour out the wines of the adjacent state winery. The style and shape of the well-being tend to represent the spirit of the old castle, which stands not far away high. Although it is not eaten out of a pot, otherwise it seems to be quite alive here to the Middle Ages. This is how the common people of the visitors in communion experience themselves according to the conditions of the landlord. Six people belong to a round table and “Freewoman of non-long flares” arranges for a short time and lets the lapels and lapels act ruckzuck. Before we have understood correctly, we are in communion with a young family from Australia with two small children. The family welcomes us kindly. The understanding succeeds in German and English. The youngest child is at an age dedicated to completely elemental experiences in this world, and so it uses the noodles on his plate, thought as a food, to various creative designs on his own body, on the chair and on the simple wooden table without a set or other ornament. In his doing, the little one smiles so sweet and cute that you have to laugh. When the family goes, you can see the whole extent of the transformation. With the aid of oral spray and hand-patschpatschtechnik, an excellent grease of noodle painting was created on the table top, which almost puts the fat pan of Beuys in the shade. At the sight, Knappe “Wischnixwieweg” attracts a moistened lobe, thus revolving on the table top, regardless of the question where the noodle particles used so creatively by the small earth citizen would remain, and distributes the layer of fat so that it no longer leaves the impression of a concentrate. His facial expression, drawn by high satisfaction, is in no doubt that I must take care of everything that has landed on my trousers in this action. In the meantime, we have managed to give up our order to change the places so that we look directly at the lake and change a few words with each other at the table in short-term tenderness that only have to do with us. We order: 1 bottle of still water (there is only medium) 4,00 € 1⁄4 Müller Thurgau, dry 4,00 € 1⁄4 Spätburgunder dry 4,90 € 1 salad m. Sheep cheese 9,50 € 1 Flamecake m. Speck 8,60 € 1 Tagliata die Manzo 17,50 € First come the drinks, then a plentiful basket with bread. After a while, Knappe „Wischnixwieweg“ serves the salad and the Tagliata. At the first moment we cannot believe it yet, but then it is clear: the leaf salad with tomato, some paprika and sheep cheese cubes has been dressed on a hot plate. What a fire in Meersburg! The Tagialta is a great performance. On dark green rocket background, flanked by glowing cherry tomatoes rest, the pink beef fillet discs. Between everything there are sparrows of the Parmesan. The meat has a touch of warmth, just why the rocket? It seems that he was given a hot plate to compensate for the very economical use of olive oil and rosemary. When I turn to the second slice of the beef fillet, where the animal clearly proves to be reproachable, our group of two is increased to the group of fours. The new arrivals from Speyer have hardly been orientated and took place, as the command for further regrouping is already made by “Freewoman of Non-Length Torches”. At the moment, the pair of Speyer saves its seats with a view of the lake during this action. Two smart men from Friedrichshafen, who are very familiar with landscape, lake and “Freewoman of Non-Length Torches”, prove the last places at the table. The Lord of the Gutsschänke is satisfied and takes up the next command. Knappe „Wischnixwieweg“ can directly pick up the orders, since in the meantime no further disciple of Beuys has settled here. Above the lake are hanging massive clouds, the heat burns up here in the walls. The air is standing. Zerberuz pushed the salad aside, the flame cake tastes. The speck cubes correspond to the bottom sea unit standard of 2.23 to 3mm. The relations between bacon, onion and vegetable cubes also seem to be correct, because Zerberuz does not complain. The last meat slices of Tagliata are quite fragrant and, with a mild judgment, they could also be called tender. Knappe „Wischnixwieweg“ hates back and forth with full and empty plates. Beads run over his face. He doesn't have time to take the guests. What will he think of when he goes to sleep? cc The last swallow of wine. Zerberuz is happy with the Müller Thurgau, I tolerate the Spätburgunder. We pay. Another look at the hungry lake. That's it. Thanks to everyone who had fun on these facets of a trip."
