"We had made a reservation at a restaurant in Allentown and opted for a private dining pod because we had our dog with us. However, upon arrival in the rain, the manager informed us that no food would be served in the pods due to the weather and that our dog would have to stay in the car as bringing the dog inside would upset other patrons. The manager's tone was hostile and we were warned that if the dog misbehaved, we would be asked to leave. Despite prepaying for a seafood platter, we were put at a regular table where we received service from a waitress who seemed apologetic. The meal was tasty but we only had one drink, no starters, and no dessert before leaving hastily, feeling that our evening had been ruined by the unpleasant experience. The customer service was shockingly poor and we only rate one star on TripAdvisor because of it. We urge other dog owners to be cautious as we were not warned beforehand about the no dogs policy. The lack of respect for us as customers means we will not be returning. The food was good, but the manager's behavior left a negative impression on us."

Went for dinner with two family members. The food is excellent, cooked to perfection and desserts to die for. Exceptionally clean establishment and the staff are fun and friendly Will definitely return.

Superb meal. Staff friendly and very helpful given that my husband has to have a gluten and dairy free meal. Nothing was too much trouble, food was stunning! Highly recommend, well definitely be back. Thank you to everyone at Allanton Inn.

Mixed experience. Overall great place as the food and service are first class. The downside for our visit was the restaurant area it very echoey. My father has trouble hearing. There was a loud customer on another table and therefore the dining experience was lessened because of this. Other customers did complain. We were offered a table in the bar and everything was sorted. If they can fix the acoustics of that area I’ll give them 5 stars.

We went there to spend money on drinks and would have eaten there too. We took our dog and were consigned to the garden, thankfully it was dry. On arrival, all we seemed to receive were dog rules and an initial unhelpful attitude when we asked to turn on the gas heater outside. Our understanding is that the dog policy is driven by a local dog's behaviour. We live in a farming county where pubs that are not dog friendly are shunned by local people.

We are seeing friends, who live locally, and this is their favourite place for a meal, I can see why. The decor is very impressive and the welcome genuine. The guys who served us were friendly and attentive. The menu is not particularly varied but it is all locally relevant which helps to add to the experience coupled with the fact that it all tastes really good. The ox cheek was superb. Yes, I can understand the reason our friends return time and again.

After our air b n b fell through, we decided to stay at this charming restaurant last night. The staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly, making our stay unforgettable. Highly recommend this place. The beer garden has a stunning view of rolling hills and is incredibly peaceful. This morning, we enjoyed a complimentary breakfast made with locally sourced ingredients that was absolutely delicious. The scrambled eggs were the best I've ever had. Thank you to the amazing ladies who saved the day for us!
