"I stopped by this Restaurant because of it's good ratings on the internet. The atmosphere is great (I really like this old style small hotels and restaurants). The staff was quick and polite, taking the order on time, I took their advice about the wine for the menu I ordered: Menu de « Saint-Jean » à 53,50 €.I had "Terrine!de!Foie!Gras!de!Canard,!Brioche!Perdue,!Pomme!Caramel" as starter.Main: "Filet!de!Biche!Grand!Veneur,!Purée!de!Patates!Douces!au!Foie!Gras" whis was great! With the wine from Bordeauxthey recommended maid a great combination. The "Crème!de!Brie!de!Meaux,!Sorbet!Balsamique!blanc" was a great surprise, I love these kind of combinations. The desert was a bit of disappointment: Café!F Citronnelle: I could not feel the citron in it at all.(The English Menu on their website is out of date, do not be surprise if you get a different one at the restaurant. So maybe try downloading their Frech Menu).Overall great experience! I am glad a stopped by!"

Is it worth 1 star Michelin ??. Service is excellent, food is good but is it really worth 1 star Michelin? One can smell the fireplace which is disturbing when one is tasting the food/ wine.

We went to this lovely restaurant with our son and his family. The food was delicious. We had the set menu and this gave us two choices for every course. The service was excellent, the staff were approachable, interested and friendly and looked after us all really well.

This is the restaurant of a very nice hotel, in an tiny, but wonderful little French village. They have a Michelin star, and it tasted well earned. Great (raw) tuna as starter, and beautiful duck as main course. Plus all sort of little Mise a Bouchers, to give the chef some time to prepare stuff. A wine menu to drool over.

Auberge a la Bonne Idee is a lovely hotel and Michelin Star restaurant in the quaint town of Saint-Jean-aux-Bois. We have been here several times now, as it is an easy drive from CDG airport and makes a lovely stop to get over jet lag. There is a salon where you can have an aperitif and amuse bouche while reading the menu. The food is very special, the dining room lovely, and the wait staff is well dressed and professional. The fois gras ravioli is to die for. They also have an extensive wine list with choices in every price bracket. It is very worthy of their Michelin Star. We will be back again in the fall, either from or to the airport.

The restaurant is in a charming, old, small country hotel furnished with interesting antiques. There were five of us and were late due to the graduation ceremony but we were welcomed by the charming staff who were attentive without being intrusive. We all chose the set menu that gave us two choices for each course. The two amuse bouche were a great start. These were followed by either a mushroom velouté or foie gras, both mouth-watering. For the main course we all had "Filet de Biche" the most tender deer fillet. This was followed by "Crème de Brie and Sorbet Balsamique blanc" - what a great combination, the sorbet of cheese and Balsamic vinegar was a first. We finished with a creamy pear de...
