"We were recommended Augustus Harris by discerning friends. It's a small gem, ideal for lunch or pre theatre for a light bite. Very convenient for The Royal Opera House and other theatres. Delicious Italian accented bruschetta were especially good, as was the wine (the list looked inviting), in a pleasant, comfortable, hint of rustic, atmospheric environment. Kind service from the helpful barman who could not have been more quietly attentive to our questions about the wine list between preparing cocktails with an understated but expert air for those at the small bar as well as the waitress. Together, the atmosphere, menu and service gave a distinctive, personal, individual feeling to the place, rare now around Covent Garden. There are more tables downstairs but we didn't see them so can't comment."

Excellent choice for a cosy date with very nice food and moderate price. Enjoyed the pistachio sauce on prosciutto :P

Really friendly and efficient staff, yummy and filling food (if a little oily), conveniently located near Covent Garden. View menu

The Salumi and Cheese boards were a delight. Carefully chosen produce, served at the correct temperatures and a wonderful bottle of chilled Gavi. A wonderful pre-theatre light dinner, with warm, helpful staff and buzzing ambience.

Very cosy wine bar with Italian tapas and sharing plates at very good value. The basement room is really cosy and not too noisy and service was personable and attentive. Our new go to place for a meal or snack after the opera or a show.

Had a great time at Augustus. Great service and lovely simple menu containing the best of Italian small plates in our view. However, the wines choices are a bit limited and could be improved. The red's especially could be better given the quality of the food. View menu

This place is a real find, and is now my favourite bar in London. I go here quite often for after work drinks, the staff are a delight, they always remember us and are great fun. The food (Especially the Cheese Board, Yum) and drinks selection is great, it is very good value for money. The restaurant is quite small, whilst this adds to the ambience, make sure you book a table, it fills up very quickly! Always a 10/10 for me!

When we first arrived there were only another table of two downstairs. It seemed to get busier however the atmosphere never changed. It was was very quiet downstairs whereas there was a fantastic atmosphere upstairs. The food was beautiful. Ordering a tapas style dinner was brilliant pre theatre. We had (for 2) salami board, cheese board, hummus and dates (stuffed with gorgonzola, dipped in honey and wrapped in prossucito......mmmmmmmmmmmm) Good for pre theatre dinner due to the location. Enjoyable experience mainly for the lovely food

"The decor of the restaurant is really lovely. We were greeted as soon as we arrived. We placed our orders quite briskly. We received complimentary bread and olives, which was a nice touch. Our Bruchetta starter arrived a whole hour after we arrived, which was disappointing and far too long to wait for a cold and easy starter. The menu did not specify that the prawns on one of the bruschettas were raw! The waiter said service was slow because they were busy with Uber Eats and Deliveroo. Clearly not prioritising paying customers, who pay a 12.5% service charge, unlike online customers. Eventually, our main courses arrived. My pasta was only just cooked, so close to being undercooked and hard. They ran out of ricotta and replaced it with the tiniest amount of cheese so I asked for some more. Since ricotta was supposed to be the main ingredient of the dish. The tuna steak was lovely, and the veal could have done with a thinner breadcrumb batter. The sides, chips and zucchini, were £4.50 and very small portions for such a cheap side. So that was slightly disappointing. Overall, the pinot grigio white wine was very drinkable, and they brought tap water when we asked for it. And the whole staff were very polite. It was a shame the service was so slow, and the food could have been better for the price that it was. We also felt it was overpriced for the location it was, zone 2 London and not in the West End."
