Not very good food, just fine. Mixed meat was too expensive. I must commend the rate of beer replenish, it was quite fast

Very friendly welcome from staff who went the extra mile to ensure that we understood the menu! Ordered cheeseburger with cheese and bacon and fries and it was amazing!!! Beer was good, cold and free flowing. A very enjoyable experience

The Marienbildspiess is outstanding coupled with its superb cognac sauce and some of the best au gratin potatoes I have ever had. The rest of the menu looks great as well. Take the Clarenbachstift stop off the #1 train west of the Altstadt. Worth the trip.

They serve traditional dishes from Cologne and the Rhineland region, and you can drink yourself to heaven with the typical Gaffel Kölsch. The atmosphere is nice and jovial, as you would expect from a German tavern, with very friendly and attentive waiters.We shared a platter of Marienbild starters and each enjoyed our main courses.However, it was a bit of a struggle to satisfy our only Vegetarian since the menu is - not surprisingly - dominated by meat.

Got into a nonsense discussion with an obtuse member of the staff as I joined a group of friend sitting in the Biergarten drinking holding an ice cream. Note the Marienbild is a brewery and don't serve ice cream so there was no conflict of...interest. Following that the waiter, for some unknown reason, refused to serve us any beer other than Kölsch although Weizenbier was definitely available. Food, ordered in another visit, is mediocre. If you're looking for good breweries in Köln, go to the Braustelle or Craft Beer Coeln, where beer is good and the staff friendly

We walked over from her house to enjoy some local cuisine. The server was very friendly and offered suggestions in English. Her, we learned about the Kölsch beer in Cologne and that if you do not put your coaster on top of your glass, they...will just keep refilling it, haha! Food here is very good as I ordered the schnitzel and my husband had sausage. Both arrived with delicious sauerkraut and the portions were too large to finish. Note: This is a noisy place with lots of locals enjoying themselves immensely and is a great way to soak up the color, culture and language! We will definitely visit again on our next visit to Cologne

Brasserie Marienbild is a fantastic beer hall we found as we were wandering around this part of town and what a great find. A beautiful interior with nice wooden features ,it's superbly decorated and has great furnishings plus you have plenty of seating options spread...throughout this beer hall,it really is a great place to enjoy a tasty traditional German meal or sample some of the best Kölsch beers your likely to taste in Cologne.
