"General We had a relatively spontaneous desire to visit other brewhouses with fresh celiacs in the valley. There should be a beer that we really like, but have not tasted for a while. But on Sundays at noon there is not such a great choice. But Cologne is great. And the traditional house Sünner in the Walfisch had opened. It is located on the edge of the hay market near Groß Sankt Martin. Sünner was taken over by the competitors Malzmühle some time ago. The new owners ordered the Sünner Kölsch a new recipe. Previously, it was more of a crumb with herbal notes – comparable to Gaffel. But the young people prefer to drink a beer with mild notes, such as early or rice village. Well, if the tactics strikes, they'll show up. As a bottle beer, I have already tried the new sinner – and I have tasted the old one better. But fresh from the barrel and well cooled in a nice cozy brewhouse this looks different – perhaps. In the menu, the history of the house is described relatively in detail, but why the name “Walfisch” is used, I did not find it. Ambience I liked the house quite well, I visited it occasionally and found it very authentic. The place is not very big. Below is the counter and some places. On the upper floor are further tables, a small hall and the toilets. Cleanliness Everything worked neatly well maintained. Service The staff was friendly and attentive. The map(s) The Brauhaus classics are of course in the map. But you also want to make some extra offers. The dishes are also described in English for “for foreign” guests. The tasting food burgers “Walfisch Aat” made of 100% beef with bacon, cheese, onions, tomatoes, rocket, BBQ sauce and pommes The beef steak in the middle was really surprisingly well roasted. It was still medium and well seasoned. The other ingredients were also matched and accommodated. The order was an attempt – and my expectations were even slightly exceeded. Actually, in brewhouses I usually try the Bratwurst or another deft court. Goat cheese in brickteig with honey and rosemary on colorful salad Also the meat-free food was well made and tasty. The “Walfisch” thus becomes more courageous in the choice of food. Beverages Sünner Kölsch Well cooled and freshly tapped it was fine, but the old recipe I found much better. Price performance ratio The prices correspond to the brewhouses in the city centre – the Kölsch will therefore be charged almost everywhere over 2 euros for the bar (0.2 l). Conclusion 3 – if it results. Opening hours are acceptable. The dishes are pretty good. However, when it comes to beer, malt mills and pulps are nearby – and I prefer their crumbs. (1 – certainly not again, 2 – hardly again, 3 – if it turns out again, 4 – happy again, 5 – absolutely again – after “Kuechenreise” Date of visit: 20.08.2023 – midday – 2 people My pleasure experiences are also at [here link]"

Was empty around lunchtime. So easy to be seated and very few people. Would be busier at weekends and evenings

Typical brewery bar without Köbes. The conditions were, however, very nice, attentive and courteous across the board

The interior is really cool. I like the decoration and the upstairs is nice too. It was what I would expect a German pub/restaurant would look like.... View menu

We liked it a lot. The service was relaxed and nice. We had sauerbraten and whale skewer. We liked the food, although the sauerbraten was particularly delicious. The food could have been a little hotter, but that wasn't really a reason for complaint

The food was delicious and it was a big portion! The service was great, nice and made recommendations that we were happy to accept. Unfortunately, we sat near the door and it got cold around the legs every now and then . All around highly recommend u

Unfortunately due to Covid they had a very limited menu. We had vegetarians in our party and had checked the menu in advance but all the veggie stuff was not available which meant it was literally a plate of grilled veg. But service was pleasant, and the food we did have was tasty View menu

We were there with the family for lunch on a weekday. The food from the regional menu was excellent, the service very friendly. The restaurant is very old and quaint, but with very narrow, long tables, not overly cozy. The food is worth its price, but the drink prices are clearly excessive. Overall a positive experience

"In a 5-day stay in Cologne and as a lover of Indian cuisine, we had planned the Ginti. The visit took place on Monday to the beginning of noon. The reception was very friendly and cordial by the Lord of the House. The decor in Ginti is very modern, stylish, but also somewhat sterile and only very discreet supplements with Indian accessories. Young guests will probably find favors in the style of the institution. The place was still empty and so there was a chance to get a brief conversation with the mistress of the house. She brought us the menus, and there were Papadam with three from a culinary point of view pretty boring finished dives. We chose both a mango sauce as a drink that was thin and most likely prepared on the basis of a mango powder. Disgusting! I ordered as main dish Malai Kofta, vegetable balls in a mild curry sauce with ginger, garlic, almonds and coconut. This is not only one of my favorite Indian dishes, but it is also a dish that places higher requirements on a kitchen and therefore cannot be found in any Indian restaurant on the menu. In addition, quality and freshness can be well valued with this bowl. I ordered this dish with a higher sharpness, but not through the sauce, but ultimately through the vegetable balls themselves. The latter were produced excellently and their loose inner composition had the freshness of the preparation felt. This was undoubtedly a 5-star court. My accompaniment had opted for Tandoori King Prawn Masala, marinated royal cloves from Tandoor in a sauce with tomatoes, cashew nuts and raisins. This dish was also very tasty, rather mild and very generous in the number of shrimps. The rice was served unfavorably on an open bowl and had to measure any fragrance and aroma that could originate from cardamom capsules or spice cloves. After the main dishes were convinced, we were curious about the Indian ice cream, Kulfi. This came visually well over a carrot cut into slices, but could not be along tasteful. It was crystallized, little creamy and the aromas of the aforementioned mango powder were reappeared. Conclusion: a highly recommended Indian restaurant due to the excellent main dishes, but not yet matured in its culinary periphery. Therefore, provisionally three stars with an inclination to four."
