"Trading heavily on the storied Bras name, Café Bras tries to be many things, but ends up being mostly a disappointment. The one element that doesn't disappoint is the setting and decor. Clearly the goal was to create a chic, sleek environment one expects in a museum café, and in this they succeeded. One also expects only average food and service in a museum café, and in this they have also succeeded. It's obvious the staff are poorly supervised; they only want to take your order and be done with you. Should you dare ask a question, don't be surprised if your answer is a fine Gallic shrug; servers are either not provided information about the menu, or they don't care to share it.In the walk-in "comptoir", the menu is overwrought and difficult to navigate. And don't bother asking at 11:05 if you can order something from the 9:00 to 11:00 section of the menu. Non! Avoid the Miwam, a Bras "culinary invention", which tastes a lot like it contains a hearty portion of the cardboard upon which it is served. In the restaurant section, the menu offers limited choices, which are sometimes good, sometimes not. On one visit, the choices were so limited there were none; after going through the pain of reserving for the restaurant, we were handed "comptoir" menus and flatly informed that the restaurant menu was not on offer that day.I suppose my main beef with the place is that a person could rightfully expect more from the Bras name, given the incredible food and service on offer at the Bras restaurant in Aubrac. Because of that, after my first disappointing experience at Café Bras, I returned on the assumption that they (and perhaps me) were having a bad day. But after my fourth (and final) visit, I can only conclude that it's not going to improve.Truly a shame."

Lovely staff - food - wine - coffee - very modern looking - like eating in the future - and good value too!

After hearing that this was the restaurant not to miss in Rodez, we were very disappointed. The food was mediocre, the waiter very rude, the service very slow, just not what we had hoped for at this overpriced cafe.

We had a delightful set menu lunch here. Everything was perfect! Great value. There are a range of menu options and a less formal section. Something for everyone. Rodez has lots of interest with its gardens and museums.

First impression was wow as far as the docor goes, since we had come for lunch the menu was petit very less choice, jus de la mansion was not there so had to do with packaged jus not my choice. sandwiches were far from being tasty , over all very unpleasant experience.

Hot chocolate delicious and generous, a pot of green tea, both served with a delicious almond biscuit. Home made cake and biscuits delicious. Surprisingly not expensive for quality. Friendly service. Café style is minimalist. A welcome pause after visiting the Soulages museum next door.

We did the booking ahead. We finished the visit to the museum and had our lunch with friends here, at the restaurantThe menu is short but with a clever selection. There is a fixed entrée and 4 different choices for the main dish. We had the veal and the fish (rainbow trout) with vegetables. Perfect executed, light for a midday pause. The desserts, Saint Honoré and chocolate mousse where the options. Both, perfect.Do not hesitate: after the museum, take a break at the Cafe Bras. The place is wonderful.

Nice place, in the Soulages Museum.. this modern architecture is a perfect setting for a modern version of traditional Aveyronese food. We were there for lunch, the set menu, offering choice between two starters, two main courses and two desserts (and/or cheese) is very good. Price is also a nice surprise for such a place, 32 euros. Wine list is offering a good choice of local and regional wines at affordable prices (mostly below 28 euros).Service is very efficient, smiling and young staff. Definitely worth the visit, as the museum of course

We arrived at the Musee Soulages after a long hot day doing the museums of Rodez and were a bit dismayed to find only a very chic Michel Bras Café in the Museum. All we wanted was a glass of cool water, surly this would be much too menial a task for these people. But we were desperate and needed refreshment. I asked could we just have some cool sparkling water. "But of course" said the lady in charge with a big smile and ushered us to a seat. The water it turned out was from their own source and came in a tall elegant bottle with a sliced lemon. It was exactly what we wanted and served in this cool premises with dragon flies feeding in the pool it was exactly what we needed to be restored. T...

Michel Bras and his son are the epitome fo France's grande cuisine : 3 stars in the famed Michelin guide. You cannot dream better. When the Soulage museum opened, I missed the Café Bras, not having planned a booking. This time I organized a lunch for 6. I even received an email reminder a couple of days before. Reservations are every 15'. We were there early and got in late.We did'nt manage to get lunch for our 4,7 and 12 years old before ours and ours took ages. I thought I could order Bras' famous tripe dish, but that was for mornings only before 11.30am I think (???)The food took ages to reach our table, portions for lunch were ok for the kids, but not for adults having waited over one hou...
