"Called in one Tuesday morning as I needed a selection of cheeses for a works lunch. Knowledgeable staff, a great choice of cheeses, as well as jams, chutneys, pickles, ciders etc and I walked out with a great choice of items that went down extremely...well with my work colleagues and all at a decent price. We need more of these small independents, so long may the Cheeseboard thrive in Barnards Green."

if they want the best choice of the cheese in the opposite, they try to load it. they also serve delicious ham, olive, cake and pates. it is a joy to buy in individual shops and produce first clas

I tried to load this one by chance and was very impressed. I buy all my cheese from a place now. I have used the best super markets and can honestly say that the quality is not as good as the cheesboard.

Whilst staying overnight in a B&B nearly opposite we couldn't help noticing this inviting deli. We weren't disappointed and came away with some delicious Shropshire Blue, a chunk of Roquefort and a packet of dark chocolate thins for our dinner party hosts tonight!

"Visited the Restaurant for a Birthday Meal (June 2021 . Service was rather slow (perhaps it was the relaxed atmosphere? and a complimentary aperitif of a butternut squash whip, served in a small coffee cup, looked rather like something you find on the end of a tissue. The fillet of beef was served luke-warm, but nevertheless, it was beautifully presented. The portions (yes, this is fine dining, so you don 't get much anyway were slimmer than Victoria Beckman 's legs ! Having waited over 30 minutes to eventually place an order for desert, it was easy to believe, that the staff had gone off to a local fruit farm to pick the ingredients for the tart. An experience ? Absolutely yes. One to repeat ? 100% No. Now, the Hotel was spotless and looked great, but if this is fine dining, you can keep it. If you like the snobbery of spending £4 for a potato cut into six 'thick chips ' or, for the same price, half a dozen cherry tomatoes you can buy at Marks Spencer for £1.00, warmed in a pan, then you will feel well at home here. I 'm no Gordon Ramsey, but to pay such a sum for what some would regard as Michelin star food, the saying: a fool and his money are easily parted springs to mind ! This Restaurant gave us the feel of a Basil Sybil style set-up from Fawlty Towers, which made light entertainment of what turned out to be a rather disappointing evening. Recommended ? No. Would we return ? No. Perhaps the owners will be grateful to read. that we would not be returning (who needs customers like us ? , but the fact remains, that this was an expensive experience, not one to be repeated (at this Restaurant anyway and this has proven a valuable lesson. All that glitters is not gold and the Restaurant is over-rated and expensive for what is delivered. So, you pay your money, you take your choice."

"Travelling past and decided to stop for Sunday lunch. As we had not booked in advance. There was some worry from the bar staff that kitchen capacity would not be able to fit us in for at least 30 mins. We initially decided that we would finish our drinks and go somewhere else as we had a 3 hour drive ahead of us to return home. However, on my second sip of my pint (a very nice Butty Bach) a waitress popped over and said they can fit us in. We were asked if we would like to go through to the restaurant area. We actually asked if we could stay where we where, as I had, dare I say a very comfy seat in the corner. This was not a problem and the waitress quickly brought cutlery to us. Orders taken. We awaited our food. I had a starter. The Glouscester old spot pork belly. Very nice it was as well. The mains arrived. Beef for the wife and lamb for myself. This I will make the first criticism of the meal. The waitress asked how would we like the meat cooked. Medium rare for the beef an medium for the lamb. Now I will admit, from what we asked for it was quite overcooked. But as it looked like it came from a joint, 2 big slices each. I can't but wonder how the kitchen can truly cook to order. Meat still lovely but just a wonder. Veg very nicely cooked (parsnips really nice) and all was well until the Yorkshire pudding. Which is my second criticism. Nothing wrong with it. But my Mother in Law is from deepest darkest Yorkshire and just in case she reads this, they were no where near as good as hers! Overall a very nice meal and really glad we decided to stop. All the staff were friendly and welcoming and attentive, without being in your face. If we ever happen to be in that neck of the woods again. We would definitely pop in again."
