"I am more often in the extra sheet and so far always super satisfied! The staff is friendly and always fast. The food is great and even throughout the house the service staff always have everything in mind. When I read the recessions, I don't understand why people complain about long waiting times. I've never done that before. I recommend the breakfast buffet! It is very diverse and always beautifully prepared and decorated. And you can't complain about the price-performance ratio in the extra sheet anyway. I think Herford has such a great café!"

We were there for the first time today and I have to say that it looks very nice there. The stairs with the huge mirror on the wall have something. The food is as usual from extra leaf ok. However, we had to wait a little long for our drinks.

Always attentive and friendly. Usually fast, the clear initial difficulties that have overcome in the point they have overcome. One star drawing is because the selection of vegetarian dishes is slimmer and it is difficult to find five (? different menus).

Operation very friendly and attentive, although everything was full. Short waiting times are normal. The food was delicious and the price appropriate, the selection large and with some chic components. With vegetables there is even a calorie intake that I would like for more dishes: everything is highly recommended.

"We ate at this restaurant during a weeklong stay in Herford, visiting our daughter who lived there at the time. It was a birthday celebration for my wife and we walked to the restaurant, located just off the inner ring road in central Herford. Blessed...with a warm, sunny evening, we opted to sit outside; the restaurant was pretty dead on a Wednesday evening and I think there may only have been another three or four tables occupied during the evening. The Alte Schule is quiet pricey compared to most of the other restaurants located in Herford so not sure if that had anything to do with it. We had a glass of Prosecco each while we pondered the menu and then a bottle of Primitivo from Puglia to share, together with bottle water, pricey enough at Euro 6 per bottle though the wine was very reasonable at under Euro 20. For starters I had Crunchy Quail Lasagne with shitake mushrooms and mango chutney while my had Apple onion, veal liver ravioli with sauce and nuts while my wife had Baked Mozzarella in a herb crust with linguine in a ricotta peppercorn sauce. For mains, I had, while my wife had Surf and Turf with Orzo pasta though strangely the steak was braised, which is unusual for a Surf and Turf. My daughter had Bouillabaisse Risotto with Monk Fish. I had the dessert selection and my daughter had the cheese board, both of which were just okay, perhaps a little disappointing. The bill came to Euro 155.50 before the tip. We had a pleasant evening with good service and would most likely return if in Heford again."
