"In this building, all kinds of items are sold--groceries, appliances, household items, music and much more. On the top floor (I think) is a large open area where many types of food are served: Mexican, hamburgers, tapas, cheese, sandwiches, ice cream, sushi and others I can't remember. This was great for people to get just the type of food they wanted. I got a parmesan hamburger with all the trimmings and sweet potato fries. It was very good. It wasn't cheap--about $20 as I remember. At that time, it was worth every penny or euro. My spouse got a shrimp and a steak taco. Shrimp very good, steak so so. Getting the food was really slow, but worth the wait."

most of the English court premises have the same architecture and division of products per floor. to me in particular I get so thematic stained glass and Christmas is the best.

This is not the largest of the grands magazins of the group. However, it is surely one of the most elegant. Fine staff, very good range of products, fine gourmet space. Worth visiting.

The menu had a wide range of food from salads to sandwiches to a complete meal. The food tasted good and the portions were reasonable. The service was a little slow because the restaurant was busy at the time.

El Corte Ingles, the Spanish equivalent of the British Debanham or House of Fraser, except that it's profitable. Great place just off Puerta del Sol to get some food away from the tourist crowd of said plaza. Other than that it's like both a department store and a supermarket rolled into one.

Awesome shops... so many of the throughout the city. My favorite ones were on Serrano (all high end, Designer with beautiful displays) and the one close to Puerta del Sol- which was more affordable and were I bought cool souvenirs for my kiddos. Loved the concept of separating the departments into different stores. I need to visit the home Decor on my next trip there!
