"Spanish food will not be the same again (in london.) we stumbled on this place after we dropped a friend back to the hammerschmied and saw a huge amount among the three cambio de tercio restaurants. da capote y toros the only one with a table left was (not reserved) we quickly claimed the seating. the service was excellent, as the waiter had taken time to explain each court carefully and recommend certain dishes such as the sardelle and the selection of the charcuterie that were the absolute highlights of the evening. the tortilla was average and to our surprise, very few tables ordered the pork- we thought was another excellent dish. the tiny spheres of the brotes are so deceptive in part...read more"

Iberico pork is one of the strongest reasons I now think Spanish food is the most enjoyable cuisine in the world and these pork cheeks were grrrrreat.

we had our very own in-house entertainment, a slightly tipsy and totally charming Spanish guitarist who humoured me when I tried to congratulate him in my very limited español.

Although stylish, the tables and chairs were suitably plain so as not to detract from the deep red walls covered in old photographs, bullfighting memorabilia, a wall of wines and some rustic barrels.

challenge of the day, not drunk or hard to tap at capote y toros. before they think this is easy, here are the obstacles to jump: over 40 sorts sherry and the best sink the world, acorn fed iberico bellota sink.

Meat Balls “Palo Cortado Fragrance” from Jerez. Smelled ripely gorgeous. Tender, well seasoned balls. Moist and had this great consistency to them. Delectable tomato based-sauce that did not overwhelm the balls one bit!

as usual for the cambio de tercio group, there was little doubt about the quality of food and innovations in recipes. and with creativity comes the risk, so not everything was suitable for every taste. for me, I have to come back in because I don't know where I find another lively carpaccio. but at my next visit I will learn to stay at the Spanish red, the usual 5j bellota jamon and skip the venison. and if, only if, they could have the baby aale of tendido cero on the road.

good tapas food with sherry! 4.5% of this restaurant does not take any reservation so, please make sure that before 8PM on weekday we read review that they are famous sherry on a website we tried 5 glasses sherry tasting £12. it was not so much to us. I could only drink a glass that tasted traditional sherry. other 4 glasses are not terrible. simply skip sherry tasting. if you like sherry, just come through the glass. or just nice wein service was very nice and frendly. it is very casual restaurant. Eat was good. I really like prawn with garlic. I also live her brot! iberico pork was not good quality. Pity! there are iberico **** hanging from...read more

I am a regular reader of The London Foodie and have written a few guest update reviews for the site. As a result, I was invited to join Luiz at the press opening of Capote y Toros, a new sherry and ham bar by Abel Lusa, the owner of Cambio de Tercios and Tendido Cero. I found Capote y Toros easily. It is located in South Kensington, a short walk from Earls Court Tube Station. I arrived just as Mr. London Foodie himself and we entered as the very first guests of the evening. The place was small but well decorated to go with the name. Capote y Toros translates to Cape and Bulls and the walls were covered with images of bullfighting. We were immediately served a Fino, a very dry sherry, that......
