"only at chez bruce ate, because our original choice to the jubilee dinner (thames river cruise) was cancelled at short notice after we had already booked our hotel: in wandsworth. instead of canceling the whole trip to london, I decided to try cb and see if they could fit us as they were only about 30 minutes away from our hotel. it was a Tuesday night when we were able to get in. I have bruce poole cookbook so was very excited to taste the restaurant and eating was really good. very similar to la trumpet in chiswick and I think they share. my starter of enoki mushroom salad with romaine, rump and comte was enormous. my cousin also thought her makrelenrillettes were first class. we have rejoined our head; I choose the hain that was outstanding again. my cousin complained that her pork was too much meat and not enough of something else. she was again on board with the dessert of white chocolate jerk and rusty ice cream. I had the cheeseboard that was good, but I had better. good wine list, with a little decent half bottle. However, the bottle was ordered by pomerol i was not available, but the sommelier hit an alternative, cheaper bottle that was very good. brot was very nice. service was okay, not great. there were some stretch before us to pour wein, to take plates that were both my cousin and I annoyed. but this little grip aside, I thought £200 without wein was pretty good."

We love the 3 course lunch menu. Have to keep going back for more. Service matches the outstanding food. Hope to return soon.

well made chez bruce, again the best meal I have eaten, all just sensational, I wish I had a part of the chocolate salted caramel tart for me. I was there many times and never thought it could be better

The food, atmosphere, and value for money were fantastic as always. However, we were initially overcharged for our meal. The staff quickly rectified the mistake and refunded us, which was appreciated. Overall, it would have been a perfect 10/10 if not for the overcharge. View menu

We had an incredible lunch to celebrate my wife's 40th birthday. Her parents agreed that it was one of the best dining experiences they have ever had. The staff was fantastic and the food was excellent. We were so satisfied that we didn't need dinner. And be sure to try the cheese trolley - it's a must!

a wonderful night of fine eating. service was the best memory of the night. I enjoyed the brot and keksbrett and the main and dessert would have chosen an alternative to the Greek starter, just as there was yogurt and a very strong sauce with an otherwise fantastic Spinat cheese bakery. wonderful ambiente highly recommended

Ta dah! Here it is, my birthday! The big one, the one with the zero in it, the one that unceremoniously catapults me from elegant middle age to the murky depths of senior citizenship. I might now be represented by that Emoji icon we all have on our phones of the little old lady with a grey bun and, right on cue, early next year I am indeed expecting my first grandchild. I’ll be a real proper glammy, oh sorry, I meant granny. View menu

Exhaustion has overtaken my body and brain. Three weeks into a new job after having been a lady of leisure since Christmas, the 9 – 5.30-ish grind sandwiched between one hour commutes is a shock to the system. I’d be lying if I said there hasn’t been at least five minutes in every day where I’ve yearned to have my funemployment lifestyle back… No morning alarms, cups of tea in bed while I indulged in my morning dose of social media, then the rest of the day to do as I pleased; living the dream!

this restaurant has a special meaning for me because it is the first Michelin start-up facility in which I had the pleasure to feed. the beginning of the things you could say. why chez bruce all the way into wandsworth? well, give marco pierre white responsible for it. marco made his name on the place where the restaurant stands today. Of course, it was called “Harveys” at that time and went on to reach two Michelin stars before white went to the egg room in the hyde park hotel and became the most recent chef in the world, at this time to win the maximum of three stars. sentiment was a reason, but price and quality was another. £29 $37,46 us) for three courses on a Saturday lunch table seeme...
