"After our mediocre experience at Carré Rouge (see my other review), we were beginning to wonder whether we would find a quality restaurant in Toulouse. We love asian food of any style (this is Vietnamese, not Chinese as other reviewers have suggested), and Chez Moi came highly recommended by a local. We weren't disappointed. When viewed from the street along the canal, it doesn't look like much, but step inside, and you're transported to an upscale restaurant that you might find in Ho Chi Minh city. Very friendly greeting, and we were promptly seated after declaring our reservation (recommended). The menu is quite extensive, including a few Thai and Chinese dishes, but I recommend you stick with the Vietnamese cuisine that is their specialty. We all ordered an appetizer - my wife and I decided to split the "dégustation" platter that had a selection of different items. (See photo.) Each item was very tasty, and there was a selection of sauces to try. Next, we decided to try the noodle dishes (Mi Xao) as a main course. I had the crispy noodles with various seafood items and some sauteed beef (Mi Xao Gion). My wife had the "house" noodles (Mi Xao Maison) that were steamed with a selection of seafood. Each platter arrived with a carved turnip "flower" decoration that was quite a nice touch. And the food was very delicious, with a nice sauce underlying it all. We know that Vietnamese food is supposed to be spicy, but the dishes don't come that way to appeal to the milder French palate. We asked if they had chili sauce, and they very quickly brought us a little bowl of sauce and another bowl with little slivers of super-hot peppers. If you like spicy, be sure to sprinkle some of both on your dish to make it more authentic! Food was delicious, and service was impeccable. If you wanted something, all you had to do was look up, and a server appeared instantaneously to answer your questions or bring whatever you wanted. Highly recommended."

Fans une ambiance feutrée le repas fut délicieux. Service un peu long et galère pour stationner dans le quartier. Dommage l'assiette vaut le detour

It's an expensive Asian restaurant by comparison to others in Toulouse but the quality and the setting deserves the treat. Ate here a few times and always enjoy it. View menu

Choose the dishes cooked à la vapeur for the most subtle flavours. My prawn dumplings were very special indeed. Desserts not advanturous, as so often in places like this.

a bit disappointed by this restaurant. It praises to be a Chinese gourmet restaurant but... I did not found much of originality in the dishes proposed. However, the prices are quite high. Only decoration is neat and worthy of a gourmet restaurant.

They keep up the standards. Fresh food, traditional dishes. Fish very well cooked and nicely flavored. Curry are for Europeans so not at spicy than in Asia but you get that. However spices are great.Friendly staff. One comment because I am picky a bit, I do not like when, in a restaurant at this level, the waiter collect my dirty plate and the ones of my guests with already the dirty plates from the table next to mine in his hands. That is cheap. View menu

There are a "mixed bag" of revues for this restaurant but we decided to take a chance for dinner as it was very close to our accommodation. Glad we did- we're on the positive side. We ordered a Vietnamese entree with a Thai curry to follow. We were not disappointed. The entree had duck which was processed and not genuinely fresh, the curry also had pre-cooked duck which was a little chewy. The duck factor did not spoil the meal but denies a full score for the restaurant. Service was attentive and good.We would try it again.

This restaurant was recommended to me, but it was a bad experience all round. As an Asian, I know that good restaurants do NOT mix three different types of cuisines. Why? They cannot possibly be good at all of them and, more often than not, they are good at none.In my opinion, if you've travelled around Asia and spent time there, you won't like this restaurant AT ALL. The dishes are pricey for what they are and less than mediocre. Do not be taken in by the outside appearance of the restaurant and if locals say that the food is 'fresh' you need to remind them that everywhere else in the world - except France, we EXPECT our salads to be fresh. What we don't expect to see is thawed frozen prawn...
