We stayed with friends and I have to say. we were satisfied. very simple dishes but carefully prepared, land appetizers typical of the territory, first dishes cooked to perfection, meat cooked well, and good wine paper. about 35€/pair. View menu

the seriousness of the owners is the medesine that is oa in the choice of raw materials and in the respect of the local gastronomic tradition. the roast is undoubtedly the strong piece but strawberries with the turnips are of wow. among the best ever eaten. and then we will forever remember poetry, smile and kindness of spirit of the vitoisteronica, with him the service becomes a performance

Used TripAdvisor to find a pizzeria in Cisternino for lunch. This place looked and sounded good. We didn't get a friendly welcome from the start. We have menus that consisted mostly of pizzas. We selected a few when the waitress came over to take our order which we told NO PIZZA. We quickly chose other dishes which were difficult as there wasn't much to choose from and we went there to have pizza. The waitress huffed and puffed and rolled her eyes back. A terrible behavior. They never deserve not to have customers.

I stopped by chance in this very characteristic room, it looks very cozy and with times in stone. to access it you descend a long staircase so if there are people with disabilities or parents with strollers you have to ask if there is an entrance for them. we dined with a simple starter of the house, most courses were vinegar / oil protides with classic mozzarelline, meatballs and frittatina, a pizza in the center very good with soft pasta and not too often and a final dessert very likely prepacked. the cost was not fair I expected more from the appetizers sincerely. simple local and you wouldn’t even notice since there is only this small entrance door in the famous pedestrian course of cisternino; open the above door awaits you a steep staircase downhill steeply) that catapults you in the small place with the pizzeria counter just next door; discreet staff almost distracted and detached, simple food but great goto. what makes the 5 stars deserve? pizza! excellent dough, ingredients all, perfect cooking and waiting times! Cherry on the cake? honest prices, which of these times is rare and very appreciated! often to return to the area.

Holidaying in nearby Casalini we went to this restaurant with the local family we were renting a villa from. Otherwise we would have passed it by and headed up into the old centre at night. We were glad we did though and enjoyed very tasty...menu including 6 of us sharing pizza to start , along with baked aubergines and courgette fritters style, excellent, steak simply served with lemon juice, seasonal greens of chicory, fava beans, came out at roughly 20 Euro per couple. Our hosts ordered so we're not sure how well we'd order with my limited Italian but would certainly recommend.
