My friend ordered 6 vodka and tonics. The drink did not taste of vodka and the manager wasn’t interested in our issue. Nice place and DJs but a total rip off. Drink beer!

Great little joint, alternative, good food, good drinks, good music, open till 3am. Good place to end up at the end of the night. Not a massive bar, probably fits 60ish people

Good place to get down and dirty late into the night. Open until at least 3am and has good music. Can get a little grimy and messy but if you're out of options at 1am on a Friday it's a good shout.

A bit quiet when I went in although I've seen it packed. The staff were really friendly, chatty and comforting. Funky lil vibe for an alternative crowd with a good range of drinks and wholesome experience!

There are so many things to love about Dead Wax. They play good music anyway but there’s also an extensive collection of vinyl that you can pick out to put on and the staff are super helpful at recommending a drink. The beer collection is good, the pizza is epic and there’s always a relaxed friendly vibe that isn’t too in your face or crowded despite its location at the start of the Lanes. My lost star is only down to the lack of non-alcoholic selection. Like most places in Brighton they assume that only men might not drink and so their only adult offering is cheap 0% lager (ick!! , despite offering local Laines beers on tap they don’t even offer the Laines 0% which is semi decent and so I e...

Booked this for a valentines dinner as it looked really cool, we arrived and nobody showed us to our table, gave us menus or talked to us, we just had to find our table. As basically nobody acknowledged us, we had to ask at the bar how to order food to which she replied how she was busy despite there literally being 3 tables but then said it was fine because we booked which was odd. There was a ridiculous amount of smoke, me and my boyfriend had to move tables because of how much it stung our eyes and continued to after we left. We then ordered at the bar at 8:30 and waited until 9:30 for our starter to arrive, at this point we were literally the only table, and then our pizzas a few minutes...

We had reserved a table for 9 on the Saturday evening of the sunny May Bank Holiday weekend, so perhaps we should give them the benefit of the doubt as other reviews seem to be very good. My husband and I weren't that hungry after eating lots at the Foodie Festival earlier in the day and as there wasn't really anything on the menu to tempt me enough to order a main meal, we both just ordered the cheese and biscuits from the dessert menu. We did think about ordering one between us thank goodness we didn't! £7.50 for 3 small wedges of cheese, a few grapes, a few crackers and a dollop of chutney.
