"All the local Germans we know that live in the Kusel area, say this is the place to eat. So when some friends were spending their last night in Germany, we decided to take them there. We're so glad we did. First off, make reservations. We had tried twice before to walk in, and no joy. The restaurant is very clean. The decor is somewhat minimilist, but nice. There's also outdoor seating in the little square out front. The staff was friendly. A couple had limited English, but they do offer English menus. The food was excellent! There's a huge variety of schnitzel preperations, and most are also offered as rumpsteak variations as well. The sides were delicious, and came in huge portions. They do offer smaller portions for those with lesser appetites. If you're looking for good, solid German food; being your appetite to the Deutsches Haus."

We walked around the base to the Deutsches Haus restaurant. The atmosphere was great and the food and beer was outstanding. Would love to go again sometime.

I had the turkey salad and it was enough for 2 meals. If you go to this restaurant, make sure you go hungry. All portions are very large and the food is delicious

Alt eingesessenes Speiselokal.

Preise total in Ordnung.

Da findet jeder was nach seinem Geschmack. Frisch zubereitet und geschmacklich sehr gut. Freundliches und nettes Personal.

We went to a castle nearby and decided to check out a trip advisor recommendation. This restaurant is nice, coxy, has indoor and outdoor seating. They have a kids menu too. I do have to say, the portions are HUGE. My Jaegerschnitzel was the size of my plate, the fries came on another plate. My husband and I could have shared a meal and be full. Our girls wanted fries, they were also a big portion, even for the kids menu.

Went to the Deutsches Haus for dinner with a group of friends. Great food! I had a salmon cream soup as a started, it was so big it could have been a complete meal. Then I had the Rahmschnitzel with Mushrooms and French Fries, I ordered the small portion size and couldn't finish it, it was so big. Love coming here, the service is great and the price is excellent. I can easily recommend it for anyone. My only recommendation is to make a reservation.

The Deutsches Haus is one of my favorite restaurants in Kusel. The inside has a classy, but also home-y feel to it. You could make a date night of it, or bring your kids. The food is always stellar. I love their starter salad, and I almost always get the Schnitzel sampler that comes with three different kinds of schnitzel. The wait staff is very helpful, and can speak some English if you need that help. For the amount of food you get, I find the prices very reasonable. Definitely a great restaurant to check out in Kusel! Tip: I would recommend making a reservation for a weekend night because it's not a huge restaurant and it fills up very fast.

"The family-run Hotel Restaurant Burgblick is a little hidden in the quiet outskirts of Thallichtenberg Ambiente The restaurant has 70 seats in the guest room and another 30 seats in a side room. The furnishings with bright beech-colored benches and chairs with gray blue back-ups in front of oak-colored paneled walls in alternation with dazzling brickwork have already come a little into the years. Decoration and table cover also work quite bodice. Everything, however, is very clean and tidy and in the sitting niche comes up despite 70s retro look coziness. If you were to evaluate the view at the ambience, the “Burgblick” would be 5 stars, because from large panoramic windows you can enjoy a fantastic view of the opposite castle Lichtenberg, with a length of 425m one of the largest castles in Germany; especially impressive when it is immersed in golden yellow warm light by numerous lights in the evening. Service We were kindly greeted by a young waitress and led to our reserved table. The service at the table was very good, unobtrusively attentive and flotted; Drinks and food came after a pleasant waiting period. Competent and flexible one has responded to the demand for lactose-free ingredients, instead of a cream sauce my wife got a brown sauce to the meat. Food The menu offers seasonal and regional specialities prepared by the kitchen master Jochen Eder. Most of the products come from regional suppliers in conjunction with “Kulinarian Landstraße”, a cooperation between self-marketers and gastronomics. On the homepage of the Hotel Restaurants it says: “Good cuisine is the top priority in Burgblick”. And so much in advance: it is not promised too much. We were very satisfied with the performance of the kitchen. Our choice Zartes Kalbsteak with homemade noodles with plucked mushrooms with a brown sauce (instead of herbal cream sauce) and salad plate at 15,50€ Rumpsteak from the Palat Rind on pepper cream sauce, salad and roast potatoes at 17,80€ As a greeting from the kitchen there was a delicious herbal cucumber with dark cumin bread. Rating: all the ingredients were of best quality, absolutely fresh and skillfully prepared. The salad was served in advance, consisted of leaf salad and rocket, spicy picantly tasted courageously, on herb salad with “Bavarian” note, carrot salad slightly sweetened and bean salad. The Kalbsteak, a large approx. 4cm thick piece, like spicy beautifully tender and juicy, the self-made noodles al dente were perfect, with sprouts of fresh pifferlings and mushrooms, all sprinkled with a hint of spicy brown sauce. My wife gives 4.5 stars The Rumpsteak, an approx. 270gr heavy fine-grasssed lean splendour, was tender in the bite, very juicy and on the point medium. The only point of criticism: the piece was not sharply fried, for that probably a little longer in the oven. But a steak only unfolds the optimal aroma that I appreciate. The pepper sauce with three kinds of pepper has harmonized very well with the meat, the roast potatoes I would have liked to have a little crispy. Nevertheless, all in all a very good kitchen performance that deserves 4 stars. As a dessert, I ordered another ball of strawberry and chocolate ice cream. Inconveniently served in the glass no visual pleasure was all the more surprised by the taste. The strawberry still tastes for strawberries and chocolate ice cream for “real” chocolate. I asked. It is a self-made “Bauernhof Eis” from a farmer from the region. Beverages: except a bottle of mineral water 0.75l to 4.00€ I chose a close rosé wine “Light Red” from the Höhn Zimmermann winery from Langenlohnsheim 0.25l to 3.70€. A good choice, as it turned out. Conclusion: good cuisine at fair price, products largely from the region, my recommendation Visited on 17.06.2014"
