Dining Room at The Goring

Really nice atmosphere and accommodating staff. All dish courses were delicious and the strawberry shortcake was a crowd favorite. The teas were excellent and the whole experience was the highlight of my day.

Delicious tea, attentive staff during service but had to request bill three times and wait 25 minutes as the staffs attention was more distracted to resetting tables. It was a shame as up to then it was lovely.

Excellent afternoon tea. Delightful cakes and finger sandwiches. Scones were also good but may have been more enjoyable if warmed. Good selection of teas, all served in silver teapots. Service was EXCELLENT, could not fault in any way.

beautiful afternoon in the dining room in the goring hotel. beautiful service and presentation of the food. dining room elegant and peaceful. eat very well. additional food offered. this is my 4th afternoon tee in luxury hotels. that was by far the best service.

fantastic service as they would expect from the goring. the ambiente was beautiful and eating fantastic, they had taken our booking for the nutritional requirements to know what was great. would be nice if the terrace was available at the weekend for afternoon, as I would imagine, that would make it an even more wonderful experience.

Wonderful sanctuary in the city for a delightful afternoon tea. The atmosphere was very gentile. The service is attentive but not oppressive, quality of tea and delicacies were of a very high standard. After a disappointing experience at the ritz the goring has become our go to place for quality service and a standard to hold others up to. We will return.

It was okay, but I wanted better than okay. the sandwiches seemed to me a bit grown (the broth not the filling), and the cakes seemed all have a very perfumed essence that they taste. the tea, the champagne and the service were great. we sat on a long table in the middle of the room, which felt very corporate and not the **** to which I am used to, the dark cozy corners. still pleasant, but wouldn't go back there to tee, I'm sorry.

I had afternoon tea with 3 friends and my daughter to celebrate my 60th birthday. It was an amazing experience. We were so well looked after by the staff from the moment we arrived. The sandwiches were delicious, with a second round offered. We had a plain and fruit scone with jams and clotted cream, again with a second round offered, followed by a variety of dainty cakes. We were so full we took the scones home with us, all boxed up. I had a lovely chocolate opera cake birthday cake too. It was a very special experience, understated and luxurious which was perfect.

My friend and I had afternoon tea as we were both celebrating our birthdays. The price was very reasonable. Service was excellent from the moment we entered the hotel.. All the staff were very friendly. The selection of sandwiches was very good, we particularly enjoyed the melted cheese one. There was a good selection of teas and the waiter was very helpful at explaining them. During our meal the waiter bought us a special cake with two candles in to celebrate our birthday. We then went for a cocktail and it was lovely to have a pianist playing in the background.
