"We booked Sunday lunch for 3 of us, hoping for great things after reading the reviews. How disappointed we were. The vegetables were frozen and tasteless apart from the carrots. Roast potatoes were frozen and anaemic, yorkshire pud raw in the middle, overdone on outside. Meat edible but not pink. Definitely not worth the money. No one came to table to check if everything was ok. We won’t be returning."

A gem of a pub in a lovely village and a bonus it is dog friendly! Great atmosphere! Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Sunday lunches are excellent and very good value. All the food is excellent!

A real find! Vegetarian AND dog friendly. Food was fantastic, service was brilliant, and the staff were friendly and efficient. Unable to fault. Just wish that we had discovered it earlier. Top marks all round. Will be back. View menu

Not happy. A group of 12 of us came today. Most were walking and had drinks. But some wanted Hot Drinks, only to be told. None available at all. No coffee or tea. Surely in this day and age hot drinks should always be available. Next time I will bring a flask.

After walking locally we booked into this country pub. Not having been in for many years I was amazed at the transformation. Now a great local pub with modern but tasteful decor and the Sunday lunch we had was one of the best pub meals I’ve ever had . Could not recommend more highly.

Had to leave this review, I am not a fan of Sunday Lunch BUT the one we had here was absolutely perfect !! Lovely meat, veg that was actually cooked properly rather than murdered, yorky was huge roast spuds excellent EVEN the gravy was nice not a gravy fan as a rule ! The staff were great. Well worth a visit, we shall certainly return !! View menu

Booked a table for Sunday Lunch we were late as we got lost on our walk before hand. Phoned to let them know nothing is to much trouble for this Pub. Very friendly hearty food well done just what you need after a hike. Tasty decent portions and reasonably priced- roaring fire and lively atmosphere will be sure to return in the not to distant future!

I phoned the pub to see if it was dog friendly And it most certainly is Staff and management really polite Customers are so friendly and make you feel welcome So onto the food This was 5* perfect Found a real gem here We took our two dogs and they to was made to feel part of the place Will definitely be returning A big thank you to all for making it a good experience
