Elif Turkish Barbecue Restaurant

Service was friendly and polite. The food was tasty enough but not great portions for the price. We had three courses and they were sent out quickly not really giving us much of a rest between each. The wine was nice enough.

This has to be my favourite restaurant in Yorkshire. Great food--either the mixed grill or the grilled lamb chops are amazing. Always a nice salad and bulgur wheat. Staff always welcoming and friendly and cannot do enough for you.

It's only a small place, but it is nice and cozy and has an excellent atmosphere. The food is absolutely amazing. I ordered a mixed grill. They are cooked on a charcoal grill in front of you. You could tell they use quality fresh meat as it simply melted in my mouth. My wife ordered a vegetarian dish which was equally as nice.

No atmosphere and staff very unfriendly. Shocking customer service !!! Found a very large piece of plastic in our food and staff could not care less nor offer an apology. When asked if they could do a discount after for our meal they said no and blamed us for not asking at the time the plastic was found. Waiter extremely rude and would not let us have the plastic back to photograph in hindsight should have done this before we showed it him) would not reccomend this place at all. Very poor

Went with friends and had a great night. The food was absolutely amazing and as we all had different food, no one had a bad word to say. It was cooked to perfection. It is a small venue with seating close together and is noisy when full but that adds to the atmosphere. You can see you meals being prepared as it has an open kitchen. Very reasonably priced too, considering how good the food is and the choices. Would recommend this to anyone in fact, it won't be long before we will be going again.

I had been meaning to book for a meal there for some time and finally managed to go tonight with a friend. Safe to say that I won't be returning. The food and service was very poor. We ordered one main to share and a few meze dishes. The falafel was atrocious, it was dry, burnt and tasteless. My friend said that the vine leaves had fizzy taste to them. All of it was below average. The service was very rushed and they couldn't wait for you to pay and leave. There was not gratitude for the buisness. Really disappointed

Have always loved elif but what a strange visit. Arrived and we were the only people in the restaurant. The man serving us main approach was to insult us, call one of us boring for not drinking but then proceeded to tell us he just drunk drove and nothing wrong with that (he wasn’t joking) Took ages to take our food order, insulted us again. I then saw him get a bottle of water and wash his face with it but then not wash his hands after Food came and it was delicious as normal, couldn’t fault it. Average .....sorry Elif , but you need to up your game ....Visited tonight , after numerous visits, which have always been okay , we get its fast service , no wait between courses which to me is too rushed , especially for the price paid , No one wants their main literally as soon as the starter is cleared from the table . No salmon ,, for main ,which I asked for , so I asked for the menu again , which the waiter stood over me rushing the order ! The food was average, but the service lets this place down. We had booked a table for two and the place was busy on a Wednesday night. We stood for a while before being acknowledged and taken to a table set for 4, with a used napkin on the table. The whole place is grubby including the menus and sticky tables. The drinks list is short, so I asked for lime and soda (not on the list) and received a grunt to acknowledge my request. I reconfirmed and was looked at as if I was stupid.
