Finch House Cafe Bakery

I enjoyed a fresh sandwich and coffee at the restaurant, but unfortunately, I had to wait 20 minutes for the toasted cheese I ordered for my daughter. When I asked about the delay, the staff were rude and unhelpful.

I went to this café in Orpington for the first time to have coffee and catch up with a friend. Unfortunately, the coffee was weak, tasteless, and disgusting. It seemed like someone forgot to put the coffee in the machine.

met friends for a cuppa and cake, lovely brownie and caramel shortbread, shared pot of tea for two which was serviced in cups and saucer. some nice comfy chairs around table looking out of the window. Would recommend and will go back again definaltey

The restaurant's menu primarily features sandwiches, salads, cakes, and soup. Although all of the food was tasty, the high number of dining options in Orpington's short High Street can make it challenging to decide where to eat among the 53 restaurants available.

We skipped the MD, Subway, Greg's ec and lucky we did. This was a great cafe, serving nice looking, wholesome sandwiches, snacks light meals, meals etc on breads like sour-dough etc.. Heated up and served to the table. Not too crowded good Wi-Fi and great service. Our 2 sandwiches were excellent and unusual very tasty.. I'd come back when next in area..

When you return half of your toasted £6.50 sandwich as it has a hair stuck to it you don’t expect the young man behind the till to just put it to one side! He did however offer me a new sandwich but after finding a hair in your food and watching the staff with hair left down and hanging loosely near the food it kind of puts you off so I would at least expect someone to have come and spoken to us but no not even a sorry! Sadly won’t be re visiting and looking at the majority of reviews we now know why the place was empty!! What a shame!

I visit here often, normally on a Saturday afternoon. It's always very clean and the staff are very friendly. There are lots of food options; usually two types of soup, pies, quiches, salads, sandwiches etc. I sometimes have a cup of dipping soup which goes down well with a slice of quiche or something like that. The tables are cleared often, the toilets are clean. all in all a nice place to have lunch and read the paper or chat with friends. There are lots of places to eat in Orpington, but Finch House would always be my first choice.

Although there is a lot of choice in the area I found the choice varied and different to that obtainable elsewhere in Orpington. I wanted a light lunch and opted for the hearty soup which turned out to be goulash with a large hunk of bread baked on the premises. It was delicious ! There was a lot of room but (as it had just started raining ? it quickly filled up with parents and their children as well as friends who had arranged to meet there. Probably not a place for a quiet tête-à-tête although my visit coincided with the school holidays.

My friend and I visited this cafe yesterday around 3.30. The cafe is set out beautifully, looks fresh and inviting. We were so looking forward to a nice afternoon tea and snack. What we found was poor service by the staff who just couldn't be bothered to serve. We had to wait for the two girls serving to finish their private conversation before we were served. My friend ordered a breakfast crepe and asked that no mushrooms be included, when we received our order it had to be redone because mushrooms were added.
