The staff were friendly and welcoming, but unfortunately, the restaurant was not serving food on the day we visited due to the landlord's friend's funeral. The landlord apologized for the inconvenience. We will definitely return. Service: 5/5

Lovely managers who went out of their way to accommodate our group last Sunday. One thing I especially like is that you can choose a big or a small lunch. (The big is very big! . Choose from beef, chicken, gammon, or Quorn. Great Yorkie puds. Good variety of veg. Inc. broccoli and swede. Delicious desserts. The reason for not giving 5 stars is that the pub could do with renovation. It is very traditional but also rather worn. Will defo return and strongly recommend for Sunday lunch. Vegetarian options: Veggie sausages or Quorn roast. Best to let them know in advance.

I made a reservation for an early Sunday lunch on the morning of my visit and was promptly attended to upon arrival. I ordered the Sunday roast, which came as a generous portion of delicious food. It was served quickly and hot, unlike some other places that serve lukewarm dishes. For the amount of food on the plate, it was excellent value—well-cooked and plentiful. One member of our group even described the beef as "to die for" because it was so tender. The 200-mile trip was definitely worth it for such an incredible meal. A big thank you to all the staff for the wonderful meal and service!

I hadn't visited this restaurant in 35 years, and the transformation is truly remarkable. We were there with two friends from our church, and although they usually don't serve food on Mondays, they made an exception for us. Everything on the special menu was just £7.95. I ordered the chicken bites with chips and pure chicken breast in batter (essentially chicken nuggets), and I couldn't finish it because it was fantastic. My husband ordered a burger, while our friends opted for the enormous Yorkshire pudding filled with mint and sausage. Everything was beautifully presented, and there were no complaints.
