"Went here for a family Sunday roast. Booked meal online and arrived in good time to be seated. Good job we did as nobody made eye contact, so our family group was left waiting around like idiots. Eventually seated we all ordered our roasts. They all came except one of us which was about 5 minutes later! We wanted mustard and horseradish. Had to wait another 5 to 10 minutes whilst we could get someone’s attention! Even then getting these sauces was a struggle. The chicken was good if sadly a tiny portion. I had a gluten free option and I didn’t get a pig in blanket or Yorkshire pudding, and they were so stingy I didn’t even get an extra roast potato!! I still had to pay the same though. We had no carrots served, because they forgot them! Finally they charged us for 8 people instead of 6! Careless and awful service. We shall never return. Even the manager glared at us as we left! Underwhelming, ignorant and disappointing service for overpriced food. Avoid."

Gorgeous venue with food to match. The host was extremely friendly and staff went out if their way to make sure my dietary needs were catered for. The food is outstanding every time we have been here!

On the Sunday of the Jubilee weekend my car broke down about a mile from the Foston's Ash. After waiting 4 hours for a tow truck I called to see if they were still open. The manager was very kind and even though not on...

To get this kind of quality at reasonable prices is almost impossible. Everything was historic beyond belief. Furthermore we weren’t made to feel as if we should be grateful to be there. Wonderful service. Just a perfect lunch.

We had an evening meal with some friends (making 4 of us) on Tuesday evening 2nd August. I found it very disappointing. There was very limited beer choice just one on tap and a very expensive Lager. I would have thought that the choice...

On two separate visits recently we’ve ordered a salad bowl. I was so impressed by the variety and quality of the ingredients. I counted ten in the latest. At this lovely country pub it’s so good to find a decent vegetarian/ vegan option. We sat...

An absolutely faultless Sunday lunch for the family, the quality of the food, the choice especially with 2 fussy teenagers was superb. The whole experience was great, greeted at the doorway, and all the staff were so friendly and helpful. Considering it was a very...

We recently had our Christmas lunch here, the food was lovely and the service was fantastic. There was a large group of us (nearly 30! and Foston's Ash were excellent at managing a group of this size. They were also really helpful in the run-up while I was trying to organise the event. The lunch went really smoothly, from start to finish, and everyone really enjoyed themselves. I would highly recommend!

Met friends over the Christmas break here, we wished to try it after reopening, sadly it disappointed. I had a burger, coleslaw and fries, the burger was incredibly fatty that it was oozing fat when cut in half, my plate was partially swimming in fat and subsequently the brioche roll went soggy fell apart! There was no checking on how food was mid meal, clearing plates or when bill arrived as would of expressed concerns. For the price and competition in the area (I'm local) it is not somewhere I'd go again or recommend as there are far superior offerings for similar prices

"I had been in this pub for a while, but my family and I were on the way from cheltenham to Westonbirt at 17 o'clock and called for an early dinner. all four of us said that the meal was faultless, we enjoyed all three courses and cannot praise this place enough. such a great atmosphere, cordial greeting from the incredibly fabulous staff and a seat directly at the log tariff. what more can they demand. it is easy to find, beautiful location and has plenty of parking right next to the pub. in summer there is a large garden back. in februar this is the place to eat when they go to visit the colesbourne snowdrop gardens that are right in front of the house and not to miss. the menu at the colesbourne inn is huge and offers for everyone something wonderful, regardless of their taste or nutrition to choose. my calamari ‘Bar Bite’ size starter was superb and definitiw a greater part than we expected. the other appetizers, a black bell and black pudding with fried egg was superb as well as the bread selection we also ordered. mostly fish Pie....only full of a lot of different fish and whistle fish. my son had the steak and ale pier he claimed he was the best he had eaten in a very long time. two of us had the nut roast dinner.... I want my Christmas dinner to be as good as that. desserts of fruit crumbs and custard finished the meal with the obligatory glass or two of fizz. for each device in these times to offer this incredible selection of oriented, which is an absolute credit for them by the most kind of employees ever and the very high standards they did. highly recommended at any level possible. well made the colesbourne inn"
