"Called in yesterday with a disabled lady I work for to get some lunch Was busy as usual Sat at a table that had 2 empty glasses on it Seconds later was approached by the owner I think his name is Boris. He asked did we want any thing else. I said that we hadn't ordered and were waiting to be served He said in a loud aggressive manner that we weren't supposed to sit at a table that hadn't been cleaned. I said I didn't realise that. He then shouted there's a sign up at the counter stating that. I replied I was looking for a seat and not a sign and that his customer service manner was abysmal. If I had been on my own I would have left , but the lady I was with has mobility issues and cannot walk far. So I remained there. Two ladies who were sitting on a nearby table approached me and said that he was rude and abrupt in his manner towards them. What on earth is the matter with the man we are spending good money there. Must say that the girls who served us were lovely. I just pity them working for someone like him. The food was good nothing exceptional. Other places do it with a smile and welcome. Certainly wont be going back there."

Called here on 19/09/20 for breakfast. Very disappointed as bacon was fatty and tastes like it had been deep fried. Place was packed, which was not an issue. Food was not good.

Friendly staff and lovely homemade food. We stopped for breakfast on this occasion. Really good quality ingredients, cooked well. In fact, we all agreed that it was the best breakfast we'd had in a long time! View menu

The only place in town that gets a queue out the door waiting to be seated! And there's a reason. Simple, fresh, reasonably priced food, always the same, and always good. That's why the business has lasted so long.

Decided to try this traditional cafe. Wish I had never entered. Went with a family member. Spent £16 on two ham egg and chips and two teas. Deco is as old as I am. Shabby. Young man didn't really care about his customers as he had his headphone in one ear. £6.50 for ham egg and chips. Basically my 15 year old could cook better chips then the cook in this place. Photo available with this review. Where's the bucket after I left. Felt sick an hour so after leaving. Plenty of ham and a good egg though chips were mushy skinny and just awful. Never go back to even try anything else on the menu....even my family member regretted her meal as well....you could put up with old decor if the food was ti...

Well reading the reviews im beginning to wonder if its the same place we visited.Had to queue which wasnt really a problem as we required a table for four.Frankly it was like being in a timewarp. It was so dated and cramped. The waitress was friendly enough took our orders we all decided on a roast lunch. The plates were small which made you look as though the meal was huge , it was enough to be fair .It was a basic mediocre roast pork lunch.Decided on desserts 2 blackcurrant tarts and custard and 2sundaes.The tart was unavailable so had what we were told was apple and blackberry but was aplle .A portion in a small dish with hot custard .had i been blindfolded id not know what it was other than...

"So came here last night 13th oct. 9 of us 2 of which 2 young kids. Had starter , calamari this was ok, sauce was nice. Main was lovely which was lasagne really quite tasty it came with chips which were nothing special if im honest, i ordered a side of garlic bread with it which was nice, The host was a nice guy very chatty, the staff seemed a little clumsy if im honest, just as we sat down a tray of drinks went down the back of my sister because the waitress wasn't looking what she was doing although accidents do happen so no biggy, although I will say nothing was offered! No extra drinks, a free starter, nothing!!! This brings me on to the cost. Not much beer choice at all, consisting of draught peroni which was are you sitting down) £6.50 a pint! So I ordered a bottle of bishops finger which i thought was a 500ml bottle, it didn't say on the menu the size of the drink which i think it should have, Well the bottle came and it was a 330ml bottle!! £4.70 for a 330ml bottle!!! im sorry but thats to much, come on guys. We all had a starter and a main with dessert each, i had the newyork cheesecake, which was ok but tasted abit like something frozen, didn't seem home made to me anyway. The Total bill came to just over £400!!! £60 of which was a service charge i was told by someone on the table, but the owner has now said that there was no service charge so if this is the case then i apologise), we were a decent size group but you know when you've gone somewhere and feel that the cost is just too much. Nice restaurant but too expensive imo."
