"Restaurant Gemma used to be much better. Visited in September and booked a table by the lake to watch the fireworks. The location is excellent and can’t be faulted. It really is the best location to watch the fireworks. But the menu and quality of food doesn’t live up to what it used to be and there’s now others in Limone which are far better. Restaurant Monte Baldo is the sister restaurant and a mere one minute away. It’s the same menu, a better atmosphere and far better value for money. The cost of the menu in Gemma has increased hugely and €21 for a quarter of a sea bass is below the standard which Gemma used to reach. We know a premium is added to sit by the lake, but €21 for a quarter of a sea bass and then having to pay extra for vegetables isn’t what the Gemma of former years used to be like. Perhaps that’s why nearly half of the tables were free on firework night when they used to be full, and at least seven tables in the half nearest the lake were free at the time of the fireworks. That never used to happen. We can see Limone is changing after the pandemic, but Gemma isn’t changing for the better. New restaurants are popping up and others have moved forward. Would we return to Restaurant Gemma again? Probably not. We’ve been visiting the restaurant two or three times per year for many years, but this year others are of better quality, a better atmosphere, newer menus and far better value."

the service was really good, the limoncello tasted like my favorite overhang and the black angus steak was well prepared. finally, the intention really lived up to the reviews.

Tasty pasta. Had a lasagna and a tomato burrata pasta. Unfortunately service was poor. Staff slow to come to the table. Did not offer more drinks. Left with empty plates for a long time and unable to catch anyone’s attention to get the bill. Lots of staff working in the restaurant but they appeared busy laying tables/stood near to the bar.

we were looking for a nice place to eat on the lake: We found him. only the view, from the terrace of the restaurant, is the final account. control green pass automatically at the entrance (braves). For us an appetizer the garda based on mixed carpacci of lake. to follow ravioli to choregone (discreti) and a guitar to clams (not bad). a chardonnay to accompany, two mountain to finish. total 90 euros.

"After narrowly missing out on lunch in another village location we were 10 mins too late for service) we made our way up the mountainside towards Tremosine in hope! We passed one prospect but the plastic tablecloths and cheesy music put us off and so we continued on up the very narrow and tricky to pass mountain road. Lovely views but a nightmare road where we got jammed in gridlock on the way down. On the way up on the right hand side a large car park opened up next to a rustic looking building and this looked like, if nothing else, a good spot to have a short walk or turn the car around and head back down the road. However, it shortly became apparent that many maybe all) the visitors in this large car park were visiting the Ristorante Brasa. We soon found out why. Rustic chic, low prices, good food and a great atmosphere full of locals, birthday parties etc). We found the service very friendly and attentive. The food was very good rather than absolutely excellent but great value and I think the subject of rather harsh judgement from us due to being spoilt at other locations. By this time I was very hungry and over ordered not unheard of). A large and very good Vitello Tonnato enough for two my partner helped me along a little together with her large salad). Followed by a tasty home made and probably wood oven cooked) lasagne for me and pasta with cheese, mushrooms and prawns for my partner a little heavy but good). The stand out course was the grilled chicken. This was clearly cooked in the wood oven. Crispy, slightly dark and delicious on the outside, herbs permeating the dish, moist and tender on the inside This is highly recommended! All in all a welcome, excellent value and recommended lunch stop. Probably improved if you have a motor bike or a helicopter as getting there is definitely something for the brave or those with an already modified vehicle."
