"This charming little establishment has been a favorite of mine for a while. I've enjoyed a cup of tea and lunch on previous visits without issue. However, on one occasion when my friend and I went for lunch, we found no staff available to serve us. We tried ringing the bell on the counter without success and ultimately had to go elsewhere. On another visit for tea, we encountered the same problem but were thankfully assisted by a customer who alerted the staff in the back. It seems that the staff may not be very attentive to customer needs."

Went there today with the kids. This is my new favorite place in town. What a hidden gem. Lovely staff and a beautiful garden.

This hidden gem in Northampton Town Centre is truly a beautiful find. The food is delicious, the decor is top-notch, and the atmosphere is truly wonderful, not to mention the lovely gardens.

I found the afternoon tea to be a bit lacking. The sandwiches were very small and somewhat dry, with only about four pieces per person. I was being treated to the meal, so I didn't want to complain. View menu

First visit yesterday for tea and cake. Lovely. An old fashioned tearoom. No loud music so we could chat in comfort. Lovely helpful staff. Can't wait for the sun to shine so we can sit in the beautiful garden. Wouldn't believe you were in the centre of town. Definitely be visiting again. 10/10

Brief stop in Northampton and found this tea room along the way. Very friendly host who made a great americano. Ordered the bacon, mushroom and cheese omelette and it was lovely. Since having covid in dec 2021, it’s been difficult to enjoy ANY food. This was the first time I did. Will be back.

This is the first time I have been here as I didn’t know this place existed, what a lovely place staff so friendly and welcoming, the tea was just how I like it and the food equally good, I shall certainly be coming back, when it is a sunny day, there is a lovely area to sit outside, a real hidden gem! Beautiful little hidden gem in Northampton. Seating here felt like we were somewhere in Italy. It was so quiet and peaceful. The coffee and cake was excellent. We were quite surprised to find this beautiful place so empty. If you're looking for a nice place to have a peaceful chat, this is perfect. The staff were kind and helpful. I would highly recommend this place. It's a shame that they are only open for a few hours a day.

Beautiful place tucked away in town, didn't know it was there, i had been treated to an afternoon tea for 2 so I took my 90 year old dad, the service was amazing, they went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect, they even picked fresh flowers from the garden to put on our table. We sat in the lovely dining room to accommodate and make my dad feel comfortable. Very friendly and the tea was delicious, too much to eat, so they kindly packed it up for us to bring home.

"I had the pleasure of visiting La Terraza Tapas Bar in Upton with my kids, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. The ambiance was incredibly cozy and inviting, creating the perfect setting for a family outing. The friendly staff added to the welcoming atmosphere, making us feel right at home. The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the tapas selection. The steak with chimichurri sauce was a burst of flavors that left us craving for more, and the Tempura prawns were simply delectable. It's clear that the chefs here take pride in their creations, as every dish we tried was a delightful journey for the taste buds. As a first-time visitor, I was thoroughly impressed by the overall experience, and I can confidently say it won't be our last visit. While the prices leaned slightly towards the expensive side, the quality of the food and the cozy ambiance more than made up for it. La Terraza Tapas Bar strikes the perfect balance between a gourmet dining experience and a comfortable family outing. I also appreciated the cleanliness of the restaurant, which is always an important factor for me when choosing a place to dine. All in all, La Terraza Tapas Bar offers a fantastic option for a memorable lunch with family or friends. If you're looking for a place that combines delicious food, a warm atmosphere, and a touch of elegance, this is definitely a spot worth considering. AKASAKA Japanese

AKASAKA Japanese

"I wondered why this restaurant described itself on the board outside as ‘fusion’, why there were so many Korean dishes on the menu and why the serving staff have heard of Asahi beer but haven’t heard of The Asahi Shimbun, a Japanese daily newspaper that is at least 50 years old. The answer is that the Akasaka website isn’t being completely honest when it describes their Northampton branch as a Japanese restaurant. They aren’t really Japanese, although some of their menu items are clearly Japanese. Don’t let that put you off, however, as they are serving excellent food and we enjoyed our meal there very much. It cost us about £70 (inc. 10% tip) for our meal for two people including a 175ml glass of Sauvignon Blanc for my lovely wife and two 330ml bottles of Asahi Dry for me. The sushi was excellent, the edamame beans were great but we didn’t feel that the Dolsot Bibimbap (a Korean dish with loads of rice, some shredded vegetables, prawns and a fried egg on top) offered very good value for money at just under sixteen pounds. We would recommend Akasaka in Northampton and would certainly go there again, but if we want a genuinely Japanese meal, prepared and served by Japanese staff, then we will be sticking to Ginza Restaurant on Wellingborough Road in Northampton. Don’t like the way that the male members of staff at Sakura on Bridge Street speak to their female colleagues, very disrespectful, so we avoid that Japanese restaurant nowadays. Great to have a choice of three Japanese restaurants in Northampton post-pandemic, and our favourite of the three is Ginza."
