"Quick stop to see the large ears and finger of Colosso di San Carlo Borromeo (statue) and also coffee time. Glicine al Lago is opposite the main parking area and has great views over Lake Orta. Coffee pretty good as well. If you don 't fancy the 'medieval ' public toilets nearby, this is a good option."

A good view of Lago Maggiore from the south to the north. Coffee and croissants. Quiet. Nice. A prospect of the lake without paying for the giant statue across the street. In the shade also. Recommended.

Went to visit San Carlos but it was closed. So went to the the bar restaurant opposite. Very clean and tidy. Quiet but very hospitable. Has coffee and a local beer. The food menu looked good and the views of the Lake Maggiore were fantastic. Would be a good place in the summer
