"The first evening of the holiday in Berchtesgaden should, of course, be spent in a typical restaurant of Bavarian tradition. After we were able to sort out a little on the day and the sparrow had already eaten well in the Golden Bear Inn three years ago, the choice was not difficult. We were looking for a short time at noon and wanted to book, but it would not be necessary to assure us, just come by, there is already a place for two. All right. We spent the day with a bus trip to the Königssee, from there we marched back to the hotel along the Königsseer Ache. A pretty beautiful way. Shortly freshened and off to the local. There was something going on about half six. Many tables occupied, a few reserved and only a few free. What should be enough for us. We got a little two table and the cards. Behind us was mood. In the middle of the room a large board sat on the 18 people, which seem to be not necessarily traveling together. Locals sat in costume and drank together with tourists and normally dressed locals. And now she had a haxe standing in front, with crispy, shiny bacon. That looked neat, it also tasted super, only the slightly dry, pickled meat blew me a little bit of the taste. The roast sauce rounded off the classic dish. At the same time we thanked and threatened with a new visit. After this Saturday night, we were sure to feed just as well next time. This was then on Monday evening after a strenuous hike to the ice skating above Lake Königssee and below Watzmann. We crossed the Königssee to the St. Bartholomew chapel by electric boat. A very beautiful place in one of the rear corners, a beautiful séparée, even if another couple was put to the table. The sparrow glowed half the peasants, as I had to enjoy them two days before. And this time too, there was nothing to complain about. I had less luck with my choice. What a disappointment. So close to Austria, and then such a pale and painless carving, which has not earned the name at all. Too bad about the straw pig. The meat seems to have been out of the back. It was edible, but after the great duck two days before and the equally good haxe I had expected much better. That's why I chose this time and ordered a Rahmapfelstrudel Alpensalzkaramell cream Rahmapfelstrudel That could make me a little reconciled. I would have liked to incorporate the strudel warm, yet it was delicious and the salty caramelis was great. A conciliatory conclusion. 4* At the end there should be another digestif, and this year there was ever a grappa for the sparrow and me. It was neat, better than the Marille before, but also not overwhelming. It doesn't matter. We were tired, more or less satisfied and would certainly come back if there is no carving. The scavenger is then also what draws the cut down during food and PLV. Who knows what it was like, I would have eaten the haxe or a pig roast the second time. "The inn was one of our goals after we drove Schönau with the support of the RK app in search of further rewarding goals for our week. Following an inspiration, we reserved a table by phone in the afternoon, which proved to be useful as all tables were occupied when we arrived. Cosyly furnished, but atmospheric rather reminiscent of a hall, since the entire hall was hardly divided by partitions or decoration. A very nice, friendly service power, which was constantly on the axle, since it had to operate all tables alone (supported by the boss, but nevertheless: great performance! . On the other hand, I would have been very annoyed if the selection of the place was based on the choice of “ chicken breast, grilled with fresh mushrooms, christian sauce and roasted ink”, and then I got inside, outside in the box, this is the “summer card” and some dishes are no longer available. Well, I had decided otherwise: First the pumpkin soup (3,20 € ), then the “peffer pandl, pork medallions with pepper sauce and cheese congratulates broccoli and croquets” for 15,80 €. “ Pute “Bombay” with pineapple, curry sauce and cheese baked, with rice and salad” (12.80 € was my wife’s choice. The pumpkin soup was ok, maybe even a little too much in quantity, and from the consistency I would have liked it a little firmer, because it was very “liquid”. My pepper puff around a pleasure, lots of sauce as you can see, but just right and nothing left. The Pute Bombay with rice as on the photo in Sauce almost drinking and barely visible, but better soooo, than just a Kleks sauce, which finally leaves the remaining rice dry on the plate. "Auf der Fahrt nach Salzburg, haben wir einen Zwischenstopp in Berchtesgaden eingelegt.Berchtesgaden hat schöne Sehenswürdigkeiten. Das Schloss mit der schönen Kirche.Die Einkaufsstraße mit den schönen Geschäften, und den schönen Hausfassaden, sind sehr sehenswert.Unsere Einkehr für einen Pausen - Snack, machten wir im Hotel-Restaurant Edelweiss,Es war ende Februar 2017 als wir hier waren. Die Sonne schien, es war in unseren Wintersachen sehr warm, wir nahmen auf der optische schön hergerichteten Außenterrasse Platz.Sachertorte Kaffee und Cappuccino war unsere kleine Pausen - Mahlzeit.Das Hotel - Restaurant machte einen guten und Modernen Eindruck auf uns. Das Ambiente hat uns auf Anhieb gut gefallen.Hier haben wir uns wohl gefühlt. Aber die Preise waren auch dementsprechend hoch, den Eindruck hatten wir jedenfalls.3,60€ für einen Cappuccino, dieses Getränk, ist immer meine Maßeinheit für mich wenn ich etwas als teuer oder Preiswert einstufe. Das Essen, haben wir sicherheitshalber auf später in Salzburg verschoben. Das war auch besser so, für uns jedenfalls.Aber wer es sich leisten kann, ist hier im Hotel Edelweiss in Berchtesgaden sicherlich gut aufgehoben.Es gibt auch eine Panorama - Dachterrasse in diesem Hotel, die wäre sicherlich auch sehenswert gewesen. Aber auch auf unserer Terrasse konnten wir das muntere Treiben auf den Gassen genießen. Uns gefiel es hier und das ist die Hauptsache.Aber wir wollen uns mal nicht beschweren, uns hat es hier im Edelweiss gut gefallen.Kaffee und Kuchen waren lecker, so etwas gehört auch mit zum Urlaub.Das Hotel Edelweiss ist wohl das Modernste Haus am Platze, und Gäste waren auch reichlich vorhanden, dem zufolge wird es wohl gut angenommen.Es wird schon etwas ganz besonderes sein, hier im Hotel Edelweiss zu logieren. Für Kaffee und Kuchen kommen wir sicherlich auch das nächste mal ins Edelweiss."
