"one of the many “Gosch”s can be found on sylt on the beach of westerland, directly on the cure promenade. cozy in the inner, beautiful to sit, especially in good weather also in the outside areas. North Sea crabs, lachs, matjes and more in different variations, with pellkartoffeln, with salat or as a flaky cake, and of course the fish rolls. simple and tasty, just delicious. adds a good bar with delicious weeping and even a sylter whisky, which is very rich despite a mature only 4 years old. who finds a place here can let the soul baumeln at speis and drank and above all let the view over the sea strip."

this year we have rented a beach basket for 2 weeks and stand obliquely opposite the gosh. that we got our drinks here quickly and our food is also natural. all good, price-adjusted. Unfortunately, the selection of feeds has become somewhat less than before.

a gosh, not only to eat, but to stay and hang. view of the driving on promenade and beach, sunset included. from late morning until sunset popular and revitalizes besides fish rolls, self-service and table service (if you get a seat with luck) invite beverages to moderate trips u. the bar to (also longer stay). I was expecting more here. the food was cooked/grilled to a maximum on the North Sea level, i.e. in large quantities pre-cooked, potato salad (potatoes drowned in majo) from the ice cream, carcasses and schrimps too long. only the wine selection pulled it out. the fish rolls are good but I get the same quality on every kiosk. Maybe it's the location and the other houses are better.

the location on the promenade.Gosch quality to moderate trips. the fish bun to the bottle wein is actually compulsory program during sylt visit. also the staff will meet the gosh quality claim, and has always served us attentively and friendly. On the tables outside it will quickly be sociable, so that the baggage also sometimes begins in the early afternoon.Very good hangout if you want to watch the drive on the promenade and the view of the beach.

"we were on sylt in October and traveled with the train. After we had done some things in our apartment, we wanted to go to the beach and look where we could sit down later for dinner. we have bumped on this restaurant and after checking the prices in the upper area, I went in to make a reservation. they told me that only one table was free, which I understood, because the restaurant looked very nice and was already full. So I said okay and we came back at 8:00. don't get her last table! this table stands next to the bar and on the main street to the kitchen. people sitting on the bar sit a little higher than they, but with the back to their table. also the waiters come at each order (drinks, eating, billing, cleaning the whistle etc). by her table. next to our table stood another small table with a wine cooler on it. first I thought it was for us if we were to order champagne or something. but no, it was like this table was a leap. the food was really good, we had a three-course meat dish and it cost only 30 €. the waiters were fast, but not too attentive. seemingly they took care of those who were lobster and so ate. ;) so I think this restaurant is really nice, but not on this table. that keeps me from giving two stars. as I said, the prices are at the upper end. a small white beer costs 3,80 €; a water-mixed apple juice costs 5,80 €; a small pilsner beer 3,60 €. reserve if you want to go, it is always fully booked. parking is only 3-5 places, as far as I remember. park them on the road or run better there. there are also other comparable restaurants in the same street, taste them also."

"Westerland actually embodies all that I don't like about Sylt. Usual houses in front of the beach, awkward, a lot of commerce. Since we enter the island from the south with the ferry from Cuxhaven, we have no more to drive for car loading on and off Westerland. But now I had to go to the branch of my bank, my credit card scattered (technically and that is, of course, a real problem on Sylt, we have to settle some restaurant bills. Luckily, I didn't have to take the road to sunshine, so my wife would certainly not have been ready to accompany me. But the weather was not so good, and we took the plan by bus from Rantum to Westerland, quickly to the bank, and then quickly past the Friedrichstrassen-Gewusel to the Westerland beach and over the beach by foot back to Rantum. That is well 8 km to the Rantumer main staircase and usually a very nice walk between waves and dunes. Shortly before noon the map problem was solved and we turned to Westerland beach. The idea was to eat a little lunch before the 2 to 3 hours walk. But not in the overrun restaurants on Friedrichstraße, we turn into the quieter side streets and not far from the artist Cafe (see the report from Doc here: [here link] This little restaurant was found in Boysenstraße. Amazing as the visitor's tower flattened 100 meters next to the Friedrichstraße, there the people at the Gosch sit three times stacked, here were free places on the beautiful terrace. It was still a little rainy, but it wasn't a problem by roofing over the outdoor areas. Warm enough for outside, my wife had already announced it. So take a seat here. Inside and outside, see HP, the small restaurant/bistro made a nice impression. We had already seen the map at the entrance, but it also stands on the HP for in sight. On the daily map a lot of fish and seafood, just right. And a good selection of open wines was also offered. So first time water, a Grauburgunder from WG Thomas Hensel (my wife and a Riesling from WG Markus Molitor (ordered for me). And then look at what to eat. The daily menu offered a creative selection of dishes. Since we always eat on the island only small lunches for both of us. My wife ordered raw fish. Thunfischtatar with Avocado, Gurke and Wasabi was their choice. She was served as a very tidy tuna Tatar, with restraint, as we both prefer. The components on the plate complemented the Tatar well, I was allowed to taste. A very good choice. For me also fish, but not raw. Mediterranean fish soup with inlay and pernod, soup is always a good lunch, just when there is something savoury outside. That smells good! Fish fond and pernot complement each other excellently, even in the nose. Spoons, tastes, tasty, tomato, fennel were tasted out next to the fond and the anisschnaps. Also spiced was with Mediterranean herbs, with fish, navy and cod I meant to have recognized. Fine soup, I was happy. We had some time left, so there was another espresso to finish. Invoice the young lady had packed in the service on request also. She had good to do as the only service in the guest room and on the terrace, so it took something, but that wasn't her fault. She did her work with professionalism and kindness. So to the conclusion of this little lunch, here can eat neat lunch, even the neighboring tables have served a lot of food. The view into the evening pass also promises sophisticated cuisine in the evening hours. If it had to be that I eat in Westerland, the Westerland city whisper would be a target I would come into. In the late afternoon, after a wonderful walk through North Seaweathers (Wind, Sun, Rain again at the Rantumer main stairs, we were able to enjoy a glass of champagne in the beach clam..."
