"Gruenschnabel is certainly worth a visit if you go to Bautzen. I went there this week and had a piece of cake (and a cupcake for takeout), which was both fine. The cake was vegan version of traditional German creme cakes, and the cupcake was a chocolate muffin with nuts and apples inside, and some kind of fairly solid vegan cream on top. Pretty good! The outdoor seating is great, the staff is friendly, and the prices are reasonable. And: just across the road, there is a butcher shop, so those vegetarians that are faint of heart will have to be very strong. I obviously hope that the veggie bistro will put the butcher out of business. Now, the food is traditional vegetarian/vegan. It is not high-end, but rather like my mum would cook if she was vegetarian. Totally recommended. And the only option you have in Bautzen. Updated from previous review on 2016-06-16"

the court of the day was very fresh and fulfilling (and we did not ask for the big plates), but the main desert was vegetaria, not vegan, so I ended up with a muffin that tasted like air, very good texture, but no aromen on it.

we sometimes go in the green beak. everything is very fresh, there are creative, varied dishes that are very delicious without exception. after 14 o'clock there are fladenbrote and burger in super quality. the workers in the green beak are always nice. the visit is worth it.

there are not many vegan or vegetarian options built in so that the green beak meets an important roll by being there. the personal was very friendly, the aesthetic and concept well thought out and, according to the explanations in the menu, driven by the ambitious, local and seasonal food to cook, healthy for people and the environment. eating was quite boring and couldn't convince us.

"it started to rain quite strongly so we decided to eat something earlier. wjelbik was right around the corner and as it had received quite enthusiastic critiken, we wanted to try it out too. that was a really good decision precision only with high-quality raw materials and yet sorbic traditions let me think I am quite close to beautiful modern note, the coating was really nice and everything tasteful was in perfect harmonie. my wife took her interpretation of the traditional Sorbian soup and with perfectly poched egg in the bowl it was really good. as an appetizer I took traditional bark and my wife gordon bleu from the calf. both were just excellent. juicy, perfectly seasoned, served with fresh, perfectly steamed vegetables. traditional savory sauce with rolade was simply incredible. I found that eating in traditional large restaurants in Germany usually means quite heavy and something too fat eating, and especially salt is also used ... well ... generous if they like. not here. everything perfectly seasoned. the portions were a little big, so we had only espresso as desserts. the coffee was excellent and it was served with a small cube of lemon cheesecake, which was really a cube (no bread intended) the prices were good and if you take into account the price-performance ratio, wjelbik really offers a good value for money? .as I said, do not seek further, highly recommended. I'll go back there when in Bautzen."
