"I hate to judge a place on one visit, but then again as a tourist sometimes you only get one chance. We wanted to eat at a Guachinche, which is a local farm/vinyard serving rustic homestyle cooking in a rustic setting. After looking online at a number of them we chose this one. It fit the bill local, funky, great looking food with a killer view. We arrived at 4pm on a Saturday thinking the lunch crowd would have dissipated but instead were confronted with a very long line. It didn 't much matter as the line snaked around the grill where all the meats were being cooked so I was able to observe and ask questions. It looked wonderful and we anticipated a great steak. Over an hour later we were seated. Mind you the tables were empty for at least 30 minutes except for piles of dirty dishes but there was very few waitstaff and they were hustling. I 'm still okay with that because getting a perfectly grilled steak is always worth the wait. But, and this is a big but, it was the worst steak we ever had. It was so overdone you could not cut it. We then tried to eat it with our fingers and could not even get a bite out of it it was so tough. It was the Entrecôte which needs to be cooked medium rare. So it was left on the serving plate just as we got it. Thank goodness we ordered the oven baked pork as well. Although it was fatty (I 'm ok with that too) and didn 't look like the lean slices seen on other diners photos, it was very tasty, moist and tender. We ordered the garlic sauce to go with it which was perfect. That and the fried potatoes, mixed salad and flan we were well satiated but confused that they had grossly overcooked our steak. I mentioned it to the waiter who spoke English and he just nodded. He could see that we didn 't eat it but he didn 't seem concerned or ask why. I was half expecting them, actually more than half, to take the steak off the bill but they did not. So unfortunately I can 't rate this place as I would like to. Although it wasn 't as expected it was still quite an experience. One note do not approach from Mount Teide with google maps or you will end up going down a very, very steep and narrow road which our tiny car almost didn 't make it. We were glad there was another road out which was coming from Orotava. PS if you do go don 't order the entrecôte or if you do ask for it medium rare!"

A cosy hidden local restaurant with great food to offer. Very typical, great house wine and good food. Will recommend to try tostones con guacamole.

This is as Canarian as it gets and the Food is superb for what it is with a very low price tag. We ate here twice, once at 5.30pm where it only had 2 other groups and another at 3pm where we had to queue for around 45 minutes. I think others booked and still had to queue DO NOT LET THIS PUT YOU OFF!!! We had more of a Spanish experience here than anywhere before on the Island and this is our 8th visit. The restaurant is a proper Guachinche (pronounced Wah Chin Chay) A few waiters speak English All food is fantastic, and unlike a lot of grilled meat restaurants on the island the meet is juicy and not overcooked. Bill 1 was for 3 and 24 Euros with a wine Bill 2 was for 7 and 71 Euros with wine...
