"I returned for the third time to restaurant Gusto; my last visit was in February 2014. I'm pleased to be able to report that everything is still just as good if not better than it was on the previous two visits. The menu...is essentially the same as it was previously, apart from the blackboard specials of course. The Tiramisu is still just as impressive! I had the Lasagne for a main and it was very tasty. Being a single diner I had to have wine by the glass, since the smallest bottle of wine here is a half bottle of 500ml too much for me! The wine by the glass was perfectly acceptable though. Service was attentive and efficient, despite the fact that the restaurant was full (even on a Thursday night). I would suggest you book a table! In summary: an Italian-themed cuisine, with some interesting inventive touches and some good standards as well. A reasonable (if short) wine selection, and good service. This is a casual and easygoing place with a pleasant atmosphere. Definitely better than its ranking on TA might have you believe: I have just spent a week dining every night in Pau, and several of the better restaurants are most definitely not as good as Gusto."

Nice restaurant for a romantic dinner. Good food, excellent service and an enjoyable atmosphere. Hard to find, but worth it.

Visited Gusto on a Saturday night. As other reviewers said it is a bit hard to find, but worth doing so. We had excellent starters and main courses. The atmosphere was very good and service attentive.

Take time to find this great Italian restaurant which is tucked away down an alley. The food is delicious, the surroundings very comfortable, the service excellent. Overall I'd say it's the best food we found in Pau.

Hidden away in an alley, but obviously known to the well informed, the menu du midi proved to be a great meal, tasty, well presented and fantastic value at 15€, or 16€ with a glass of wine! . Two choices for each course ensuring that...there's something to please everyone.

the formal lunch began with gorgonzola-stuffed ravioli, which was tender, rich and tasteful; really great! my lead was very good when a little small. the pork pliers were cut a little thin and too hard thought. they leave it a little dry. But...a very good experience and worth overall. we are coming back

they had to go down many steps of stone to get to gusto, which has about four tables outside and a dozen or more inside, emphasis on Italian eating, but very new and interesting combinations, especially the risottos and excellent lamb. beautiful wine list, inexpensive. we came when it was opened at 20 o'clock and at 9:30 o'clock they were full. A return visit, this time with some guests. Le Gusto is still very much as I found it a year ago; great food, good, casual and relaxed service, and a short but nice selection of wines. All three of us were happy with our meals,...to the extent that we went the whole way and had three courses each (something that doesn't often happen). Great desserts, interesting starters, and very enjoyable mains. Strong Italian influence, but with some interesting and innovative twists. Definitely a reference in Pau.

we have booked this for a group of 5 by e-mail from Australia, so good and really unseen. but ta had good reviews, and as we were on a massive bike tour, we needed some good Italian and bicycle fuel. first, it's actually a real one. pleasant walk to get it! it is down (or above) a remote staircase in an old part of pau. the setting is great and the photos on this side do it just. the personal seems to be family, friends or both and treat them as well! service was fast and efficient; bier came fast! the menu is small but varied and fresh, and each of us was very satisfied with eating. I had risotto, and I'm a bit of a Risotto snob. However, at the end of it I have google translate to say “c’e...

"We booked to stay at the Parc Beaumont hotel and the reception staff highly recommended their Jeu de Palme restaurant so after a wander around town, we decided to eat there. They found us a table on the terrace despite no reservation and we proceeded to have one of the most delicious experiences of our summer travels. The Bourgogne Pouilly Vinzelles recommended by the waiter was absolutely delicious and refreshingly not overpriced, perfectly complimenting our amazing meal. There is a choice of three starters, three mains and three desserts as well as a gastronomic tasting dinner. We went for three courses and the waitress brought up two beautifully presented and tasty amuse bouches, one after the other. The first was tiny taster mouthfuls as usual while the second was a mini tuna tartare with a menthe dressing. It was a perfect blend of flavours and set the level for the courses to come. My coeur de saumon was beautifully cooked, slightly rare inside as I like it, and served on a bed of butter beans, pea shoots and redcurrants resting in a delicious fruits de mer reduction while my husband's duck with broccoli cooked three ways and courgettes was also a hit. A reinvented tiramisu was delicious and the home made madeleines and mini lemon topped biscuits (like the two pre-starters, also on the house) rounded off a wonderfully relaxing fine dining experience. The bill came in at 115€ which was fantastic value for such a fabulous meal. We will be back!"
