"The locals may forgive me, but I wouldn't call Langenfeld as particularly worth seeing. No city centre with historic buildings, a pure residential town halfway between Cologne and Düsseldorf. When I walk through the city centre, I always have only one semi-concrete house that I would like to call historical – the house Arndt. Built in 1667. Since the oldest secured date comes from a map of 1810, and there is no evidence that can be loaded for time – at least I was described in this way. Now that I just walked past the house of Arndt, I will take the steps together with my family. Surroundings The house Arndt meets inside what it promises from outside – an unprecedented workshop. On the ground floor there is a pub. The upper floors serve as a restaurant, accessible by narrow and quite steep wooden stairs. The old wooden beams are also visible inside and the restaurant is divided into several smaller rooms. The smallest room, a Bayer to the main street, offers space for two people. The rooms are lovingly furnished with pictures, plants, etc. In addition, in good weather there are also some outdoor seats in front of the building. Service When entering the building we were greeted and accompanied by the service. Since only a few guests were present today, we could choose between the different rooms. We decided to dress with most wood – not only wooden beams on the ceiling, but also the walls half high with dark wood. Later we had the menu in our hands. House Arndt offers in particular Irish or Celtic specialties, but also Rhenish dishes and a whole range of vegetarian dishes can be found in the menu. In addition, several varieties of Irish beer, not just the Guinness we know. Overall, the service was very friendly and flott (where too much went on this day), and would like to answer questions about the menu. Food For me it quickly became clear that it will become something of Irish specialities. Finally, my choice fell back to a lamb in an apple whisky sauce with potato gratin. My wife preferred a regional dish with pork carving “Bergisch” with roasted onions, roasted eggs and roasted potatoes. My daughter chose a peasant pancake with bacon, onions, tomatoes and salad, while my son with his beloved cheeses remained in Germany’s “high north”. In addition, I tested two Irish beers: once the Strongbow and another Kilkenny. Prices: Lambs in an apple whisky sauce with beans, cabbage rabies and carrots in bacon, with homemade potato gratin: 17.80 EUR pork chip “Bergisch” with roasted onions, fried eggs and roasted potatoes: 13.00 EUR. Peasant pancakes with bacon, onions, tomatoes and salad: 8.50 EUR homemade fried cheese with salad: 8.50 EUR Kilkenny, Strongbow: 2.80 EUR 0.3 l My daughter was the only somewhat disappointed of your choice. She had imagined the peasant pancake a little different than “as with grandma”. But in the Ed effect it tasted. My son only commented “more cheese should have been allowed”. The lamb back was delicate pink and wonderfully soft, at best the sauce would have tolerated a little more whisky. Although the potato gratin looked somewhat inconspicuous on the plate, it tasted very delicious. The salads were fresh and finely dressed, but very rocket. My wife was too big, but my son was a grateful buyer. One more sentence to the Irish beers I ordered. Let's say they tasted interesting. The chance to taste original Irish beers with us, I didn't want them to stay unused. However, at least for me they are not a serious alternative to South German white beer. Value for money From our point of view, both the quality of food and the size of the portions are good. If you want to enjoy Irish Celtic or regional cuisine in a stylish working environment, you will find the right place in the house Arndt. There is also a friendly service so I can recommend this place everywhere. However, the building is not accessible to disabled persons."

The house Arndt knows almost all in Langenfeld because it is located directly on the market. It's a small pub with delicious beer. There is something for whisky lovers. You can sit in the room with the bar and eat or stand up. The menu is not huge. they do not need the dishes that have something for every taste. Delicious portions that make you sick. For a cozy evening in a quiet atmosphere just the right thing. It is best to arrange a table because the space is limited.

HiWe were shopping in Langenfeld near Leverkusen. The Irish pub is small, modest and painted in a traditional green and white of the area. Once inside the welcome from the staff was really lovely. We went upstairs to the dining area which was small and cosy. The menu was impressive, very traditional plus a touch of the Irish. I ordered a steak and salad, the steak was really soft and the salad was a mix of all vegetables not just lettuce and tomatoes. My husband had a traditional German dinner which he really enjoyed. The bill was surprisingly low for what we had. We will go again and I recommend you readers to go there.

Before Christmas there was the offer of a goose dinner for 99, €. It was super delicious! The order went by email or Facebook. The friendly driver came to the desired date and brings 2 large and 1 round gastrometal heat tank with flame (no idea how the right hot. In it a filled geese, pork, red cabbage, rose cabbage with bacon, dumplings, maron sauce, vanilla sauce. Really all very tasty, the geese juicy and with crispy skin! The containers are either picked up or you bring them back, your own decision. It was so good that we asked for Grandmas' birthday for January and it was possible! It was just as delicious.
