"We came from Slovenia to visit Culinary Olympics in Erfurt. After all day travel we wanted to have nice German dinner in a heart of this beautiful town. We found this place, accidently while we have been exploring old part of town. The place seemed...promising so we decided to enter. Waitress has been nice, we didn’t want to complicate and we all took the same dish: pork shank with dumpling, sauerkraut and gravy. Some of us started with some onion soup which not bad, but not so good that it would be worth to mention. After a while waitress brought the main course, which is the main reason of this review. Shank has been overcooked not properly warmed burned outside and absolutely not fresh. Some of the shanks have been burned so much that they were smelled like burned pork cadaver. Side dish has been mostly prefabricated (dumplings, gravy) and then warmed. We have been all very disappointed because we have been expected way much better food from their territory. Burping reminded me for the rest of the night, that my dinner was not what it should be."

Good and plentiful food: We had schnitzel with small mushrooms and beer. The service was good and friendly and it was nice sitting in front of this medieval building.

I've eaten several times here while in Erfurt. The experience is always unforgettable and the food is authentic. The staff is great. Can wait to return. Love this place!

We had a family lunch there around noon time on Saturday. Service was quick and friendly, the food was fresh and tasty and the prices moderate. Plus the historical surroundings of course

We had dinner in this nice corner but unfortunately food was just ok, my fish with paprika and rice was not very tasty. Maybe I should have chosen another thing from the menu at least Staff was nice. View menu

Ate lunch here, nothing much to say. It is an average place in every way: pretty good food, okay service and okay value for money. The sauerkraut wasn’t the best, but other than that their Thüringen bratwurst meal was tasty. Eat here when you are...hungry but not looking for anything special.

They are located near the plaza, very easy to find. Looking at many people eating outside, we decided to check it out. We were seated in the celler (renovated clean and new, but still the charming feature of the original feel). We had smoked...salmon dish and wurst dish for lunch. Beer was great, too, as at anywhere in Germany.

We visited on a sunny day and enjoyed sitting outside in the little square people watching over lunch and beers. Decent selection of beers and range of traditional thuringen cuisine... We went for goulash and rouladen with klose, all pretty tasty but nothing particularly special,...just good hearty fayre and what we were expecting. View menu

This is an unpretentious restaurant located in a fine old house with pavement seating in the heart of the old city. The service was friendly and efficient and the food is good value and tasty. The rosti with smoked salmon was particularly good as was...the seasonal Pfifferlinge with tagiiatelle. We eat there three nights neither of the other places we eat at compared.

We were very satisfied with our lunch experience at Haus zum Naumburgischen Keller. After walking through the outside patio area and seeing what other diners had ordered, we decided on having a beef dish with red cabbage and dumplings-my husband opting for the beef roll...and I the thick slices of beef-both in an out-of-this-world delicious dark sauce. The cabbage was superb and the dumplings also very tasty. We were very pleased with our selections. I had a glass of red wine which was excellent with the beef. Our server was very attentive and kind, responding to our questions in English. We would definitely recommend this restaurant and if in the area again, would definitely return.
