"My partner and I stayed here for nights for a weekend away. The staff were very welcoming and helpful especially as my partner was rushed into the hospital on the night and was there for the duration of our stay. It was a...stressful time, we are from the south so quite far away from home. The staff were so understanding and accommodating as i didn't know when my partner was going to come out of hospital. The food and breakfast was amazing. They have gluten free options too (Coeliac Friendly and nothing was a hassle. We will definitely stay here again when we are back in the area (hopefully soon The rooms were spotless, very spacious room with a beautiful view overlooking Richmond."

a friendly reception, very tasty eating (we had Sunday dinners that was as close as they get home cooking), good service and extremely good value for money.

we visited this pub on two consecutive days, which was home cooked eating was delicious, the friendliness of the coworkers and customers was excellent and it will certainly not be the last time we visit. in any case recommend.

Called in for drinks and food. Lovely friendly staff, such a relaxed place and a gorgeous cosy log fire keeping us warm after a long walk. The food was gorgeous … very good value for money and tasted Devine . We will defiantly return when...we are back in Richmond. Thank you View menu

Called in for a drink and get a feel for the place before booking rooms for a family gathering. Went into the bar area and whilst the landlord was very welcoming the locals were not and sat drinking and offensively sweary. One female overheard to...say that she gave “lifts” to friends for money when she clearly wasn’t a licensed taxi driver!

Eating is incredible and can make the steak sizzler, chicken cherry and also blossom breakfast is fantastic cooked as we like it. will definitely return.

our greeting could not have been better from employees and locals. the fire woke the beer excellent. eating was well typical pub food. our room was large, comfortable and clean with magnificent view, enhanced by the sunset. sad I knocked a star down, there, lacking in break, what the rest of the experience gave. the dame served was crunchy and rude, the breakfast cold and the order wrong. We stayed at this lovely hotel for one night. The staff were very helpful and welcoming, The rooms were spotlessly clean and comfortable, and the breakfast didn't disappoint. Also there was plenty of space in the car park, we asked if we could leave the...car and taxi into town before we left Richmond, they said it would be no problem. Wouldn't hesitate staying her again, and would certainly recommend to friends.

really bad experience at this location. the menu did not reflect what was listed on the website. it was february so from the tourist season, so perhaps the reason to storm the reduced menu. eating was bad with taking the chips). The...prawn lees prawn cocktail for beginners was followed by a terrible main meal. we were also cold and asked if they could put another protocol on the wood burner. they did this, but the fire was already out, so that the fire never started again.

"We arrived frazzled because we drove around the grounds in the dark not knowing where to go. The signage inside the grounds is no help at all. Allow time for this if you haven't been before. Fortunately we had because we wanted a pre dinner drink in the bar before we ate. Even when we did arrive we weren't sure if we had arrived at the back entrance because we stood for ages with no welcome or acknowledgement. A very disappointing start to our evening. When someone did come they didn't take our coats. We went through to the snug for a drink. They gave us menus and went away. Later came back for our order. We got our drinks and ordered our food. Then very quickly afterwards we were asked to go through to the restaurant. We had only had a couple of sips of our drinks and it was still prior to the time we had actually booked our table for (7.30pm). We felt rushed. The food came and was fabulous. I had the beetroot starter which had beautifully cooked beetroots and some pickles. It also had a grain through it. I couldn't remember what the grain was so asked a member of staff. She didn't know so went away to ask and came back saying it was probably buckwheat....probably! My main was pork belly with parsnip and an apple reduction. The pork could have been cooked a little longer. I think belly needs to be very well cooked until really soft. The top skin was impossible to cut through as it was not crisp, I couldn't eat it. A steak knife would have helped. Having said that it was still a good dish which could have been excellent. We had sides of mashed potato and greens with pickles both superb. The presentation of both dishes was innovative and inviting. Portion size was good too not tiny portions of fiddled with food which I much prefer. The service was not as polished as the food. There was no obvious manager and we had different servers which is never quite as good as one for the entire meal. The servers were scruffy not appropriate for such a lovely building. Overall it was OK but could have been superb with more attention to some details. Service: 2 Location: 3"
