"I wanted to take some time to write a review about hops and chops. it is such an outstanding restaurant with regard to eating and service. the variety of drinks is raised and I have never eaten anything like that. also nice tastes amazing and stand by everything else. I know it sounds crazy, but try to see what I mean. I now have 7 or 8 meal times from here and much more in the sister restaurant smoke pit in the city. only once I had a bad experience and it was immediately fixed without to quibble. the price is on the deck of what I would expect to pay and does not want the prices to rise further than what they have done in the run of the years, especially for steak. I don't mind paying for good food and drink, but there's a limit. keep the good work hops and chops. I'll see you soon!"

I always enjoy dining at this restaurant. The service was a bit slow even though it wasn't very busy. The steak was cooked perfectly.

Best place for steak in Northampton without a doubt...(my opinion). Enjoyed super T-bone with fresh greens vegetables, onion rings and mac n cheese. Would definitely recommend.

had amazing eating both paintings we had been. eating is 10/10, service is 10/10 and very good price. pity over the drunk female customer who causes a scene from no reason over £2. the personal did it perfectly. we'll be back next week.

The food at this restaurant is delicious and the atmosphere is nice. We were a large group and the restaurant handled us very well. We arrived early and were seated promptly. The food was good, but I also recommend trying their cocktails! We will definitely be returning.

We had planned on going to Firejacks, then TGI Fridays, both were fully booked. I was hungry and annoyed, so we saw this place nearby and thought we would try it. Not booking firejacks was the best mistake i made. The portions are perfect and the food was exceptional We will be back for another helping!

had an absolutely nice meal here. rhubarb gin cocktail was delicious. split a bokong starter, more then enough for a person. my steak was cooked to perfection, like the lamb dish. also divided a dessert that was a beautiful end of the meal, all washed with a wonderful red wine! all staff were really friendly and welcoming great value for money, surely will be back

What is not to like! The restaurant has a modern feel and is nice and open, the menu is varied and catered for a vegetarian, a pasta lover, a fussy teenager and of course a lover of meat of which I have never had a finer piece. So that 's chops what about hops ? Again there was a wide variety of cocktails but more importantly for me was a very extensive beer list, so do your self a favour a get a taxi.

"I wondered why this restaurant described itself on the board outside as ‘fusion’, why there were so many Korean dishes on the menu and why the serving staff have heard of Asahi beer but haven’t heard of The Asahi Shimbun, a Japanese daily newspaper that is at least 50 years old. The answer is that the Akasaka website isn’t being completely honest when it describes their Northampton branch as a Japanese restaurant. They aren’t really Japanese, although some of their menu items are clearly Japanese. Don’t let that put you off, however, as they are serving excellent food and we enjoyed our meal there very much. It cost us about £70 (inc. 10% tip) for our meal for two people including a 175ml glass of Sauvignon Blanc for my lovely wife and two 330ml bottles of Asahi Dry for me. The sushi was excellent, the edamame beans were great but we didn’t feel that the Dolsot Bibimbap (a Korean dish with loads of rice, some shredded vegetables, prawns and a fried egg on top) offered very good value for money at just under sixteen pounds. We would recommend Akasaka in Northampton and would certainly go there again, but if we want a genuinely Japanese meal, prepared and served by Japanese staff, then we will be sticking to Ginza Restaurant on Wellingborough Road in Northampton. Don’t like the way that the male members of staff at Sakura on Bridge Street speak to their female colleagues, very disrespectful, so we avoid that Japanese restaurant nowadays. Great to have a choice of three Japanese restaurants in Northampton post-pandemic, and our favourite of the three is Ginza."
