"Hi. Here we are in the presence of a Restaurant with the “R” capital. . spectacular location, large station (which does not spoil), asphalted road to arrive and, mainly, you eat well. "I had dinner with my friends. we took two mixed appetizers in 4, consisting of meats, cheeses and various appetizers. a discreet appetizer and perhaps a little too little for 4 people unfortunately we have entrusted to the staff who recommended it. for second personally I took a cut with onions and balsamic vinegar. the meat, accompanied by a small portion of fries to washing machines (very good), was delicious and tender and the finish with onions and balsamic vinegar was exquisite. as sweet I took a tiramisu (excellent and perhaps one of the best tiramisu I've ever eaten). finally a coffee and a bitter. Unfortunately I have to give four stars both for the proposal of appetizer that was recommended and for the price that left me a little enigmatic. for the rest if you want to eat a good cut and a good dessert this is the right place."

"We went here twice, this place is truly authentic food of Viterbo. The food, the people owning Porta Romana are the same people making and serving these truly marvelous dinners! OK, the menu is hand written everyday... can you say everything is definitely the freshest best ingredients you can procure!? The homemade pasta and pomodoro is out of this world, the ravioli... OMG!! This isn 't even the best part, because Viterbo cuisine is known for it 's use of pork, very thinly sliced magro (pork) is so tasty, so delicious, so Viterbo! Then there 's stinco the shin. Aside from this incredible food experience, the owner, the matriarch, is always there. She is so sweet, so kind, so friendly! Our family loves her! She is overseeing everything, having pride in her restaurant 's creations. Her son is a character, he is belting out music as he cooks with another chef back there. My son lived in Viterbo for a year, he went here many, many times over the course of the year. This is because this authentic, tasty food is also a great price! Six of us, two bottled of wine, desserts, three courses, coffee, desserts... two and half hours of amazing dining cost... 150 euro! Unbelievable!! Go here! The place is unassuming, the food is off the charts amazing."

"I haven't been to all the local restaurants, yet, but I'm surprised it seems to top the list. Don't get me wrong the service was attentive, food was good (we had pizza) and the price was ok. What we felt it lacked was warmth. The main restaurant is a huge tiled room with large tables well spaced from each other. If you are there for a wedding on a lovely summers day it is probably totally different but on a cold and blustery November evening it felt uninviting not withstanding the service. I was hoping for a warm inviting country house but what I got was cold and uninviting. Outside they have a decent garden area with a pretty pergola which strongly suggests their main business is in wedding reception market. One point on the food, we ordered pizza, fine. But they brought us an appetiser of thing focaccia which was very nice but not what you want when you are about to eat pizza! After a few slices of the focaccia she couldn't finish the pizza. Better would have been a lovely canapé that showed off the chefs skill and maybe might have brought me back to try something else other than pizza. I asked for a wheat or white beer but I got a lager. Not sure the waiter knew the difference. The prices were average."
