My wife and I visited Illegal Jack's Tex Mex Grill this evening. Unfortunately, it was a complete waste of time as we waited in line for 15 minutes just to place our order.

Tasty and fast Mexican/Texan cuisine at a great price. Highly recommended! The spices in the dishes were especially impressive. We enjoyed both the Burrito and Quesadillas—they were excellent.

it's great to have jacks again. it is a bit more of the beaten track now but I have no doubt that it will do well. with the festival crowds, follow the new students in september and his dedicated cult, it will always be a steady stream of Burrito lovers who go to this fantastic tex-mex connection!

Illegal Jacks was originally situated on Lothian Road and quickly became a beloved institution in Edinburgh before it unfortunately closed, not due to any fault of its own. I was passing by Strick Square on my way home and decided to stop by Illegal Jack's for a few burritos. I had just come from Lothian Road and was excited to see the restaurant after following its progress on Kickstarter. The place itself is fantastic – as soon as I walked in, I felt a sense of happiness and warmth. Unlike the cave-like white interior of its predecessor, the new design feels more intimate, trendy, and relaxed. Whether it's better or worse, it's clear who their target market is right from the start, and they have a strong presence.
